I wanted to sleep but I couldn't. Why? I kept reminiscing the many statements of Mrs. Toyosi Akerele-Ogunsiji in the #YouthDecide2019 Conference on how we youth can change the narratives and focus on what really matters.
It's very apparent that the problem of Nigeria is quite deep but until we start holding the people in power we won't create the real change.
People die everyday of hunger. Children die every single day and people lose their lives due to poor health facilities and we keep quiet that government do not matter, it matters.
Imagine, it is your brother or siblings that die of hunger or poor health facilities.
Another thing is I and you have access to quality education but many people on the street who constitute the majority have no access to education and information. These are the people used against us.
It's until we realize that we have to cater for those people, that's when can create the change.
We see our leaders and begin to tremble. To even snap pictures with them its difficult. They construct road and we begin to hail them. It's their duty. What are we paying taxes for.
It's high time I and you break the divide and rule game that politicians use against us. It's high time we work in unison.
When it comes to campaigning for election, you wouldn't see the son or daughter of Buhari or Atiku carrying placards, but its I and you, that we rants and jump around the street.
When it comes to education, you wouldn't see Saraki son attend University of Ilorin but fly to abroad to study. How many of your chairman daughters and son's are attending public schools in the local government? Why? It's high time we start asking critical questions.
So come 2019, we have a choice to choose between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. How far are we going to go about that?
Guys, Nigeria problem is deep. Its high time we rise and help the generations coming.
The health sector is nothing to write home about and our president fly to another country for medical check up. And, you say we are not in problem. We are in deep shit.
Guys lets wake up from our slumbers and change the narratives.
Bottom Line
The Power to make that dream of building a great nation a reality is found in your PVC. Do the needful today by getting it today.
Thanks for coming around.
Great article! It is very true that Nigeria's problems are deep rooted, but still, the change we desire rests on the shoulders of the youth. Until we realize this, and are ready to take proper actions, they will continue using us as their tools.
This is true talk my dear and the earlier we act the better for the youths and nation at large.
