ADVICE TO THE YOUTHS

in #wafrica7 years ago

Am seeing many things in this state let me just say my advice to Akwa Ibom youth in this era of show offs and frustration driven suicides society is to keep it to yourself.
If you succeed and get a big job that takes you round the world once a month, keep it to yourself. Don't splash us with photos boarding Air France, Swiss Air and Abuja Airport..... remember there is an air hostess who boards that plane everyday..... And keeps it to herself.
If you got money to afford a nice lunch at crunchies and dinner at Oliver Twist, keep the photos to yourself....unless you will be proud to share your photos drinking Utazi at Ikpa Road or ufofob and pork meat at Itu Road if things get bad later in life.
Do you notice, how quickly, waiters at Kilimanjaro eateries, clear and rearrange the table once you leave? You are quickly forgotten, they are now ready to serve next customer. Forget it that fast too. Even the security guy at the parking lot helps you to reverse and leave.........to create room for next client.
When you buy that small Toyota or Mercedes, the ones with wide tyres and doors that open upwards.....those that has a roof that can be removed and left at home, just share the photos with your insurance broker. That way, if you go broke, you won't feel suicidal every time we meet boarding keke at Plaza or mini Bus at Mbiabong.
If you win her heart, get her hand in marriage, just settle down silently. You are just one of the 3 million or so couples in Akwa Ibom. No less or more important.
If you take her to Dubai for the honeymoon, take a majestic walk on the sand dunes, admire her even more in that yellow summer dress.....take some photos and then some more. Share them with the wedding committee and your family. Leave the rest of the world out of it. In case things go south, you will have a few people to be ashamed of, a few people to explain to.....and less suicidal tendency.
Just see how quickly the ibeno beach wind wipes away your footsteps on the loose sand........forget that fast too. Millions of couples have stepped on that sand....then wind did the clean up.
Keeping it to yourself makes it easier to stand disappointments if they ever happen. You will never feel the urge to escape the world to hide the shame.. IMG-20180715-WA0004.jpg
