1. DO THE THINGS YOU ARE FUN OF

One of the symptoms of depression is loss of interest in things that you usually love doing. You don't have to give in to this instead force yourself to do some of those hobbies that make you happy. You can even pick up new hobbies that helps you express how you feel; like singing, poetry and even painting. Not just art, you can decide to learn a new sport like tennis or even board games like scrabble and chess.

As for anxiety, it can make you stressed up just for nothing. Learn to clear your head by either taking a walk alone in the woods, go swimming in the pool which helps you cool down your head. Stop imagining and think things through rationally. If you are not ready for something, practice and get yourself ready since just worrying won't help you. Also remember to rest your body and head adequately.

2. ALWAYS STAY CONNECTED

Another symptom of depression is that it makes you wanna disconnect completely with the world and just stay on your own but this is very tricky and often leads to suicide attempts. Instead stay connected to loved ones, friends and family and don't push them away. However, its okay and recommended you stay away from social media Apps like Twitter and Facebook so you don't start complaining to people who may never understand what you are passing through.

As for anxiety,it is important you stay connected to family, friends and loved ones as well because of the saying "A problem shared is a problem half solved". Sharing your burden with people close to you helps you get solutions easily than just worrying which solves nothing. Talking to people older than you like your parents can also help shape your thinking and give you a new perspective and the winning mentality vital in solving your problems.

3. EAT HEALTHY FOOD

Another symptom of depression you have to be careful with is loss of appetite. You have to force yourself to eat something as starving yourself might lead to other complications like Ulcer. Don't just eat but eat healthy meals as what you eat has a huge impact on how you feel. Similarly with Anxiety, you may be too focused on what's ahead that you might even forget you've not had something for the day. Eating gives you the energy to carry on with your activities productively, and food gives you energy to fight depression. Remember this popular quote "An hungry man is an angry man".

4. OPPOSE NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

Depression and anxiety attacks the mind first and every other thing is as a result of a defeated mind. You have to fight depression and anxiety in your head. You do this by listening to motivational talks from people who have been through similar situations. Personally i recommend TED Talks on YouTube. Do not give in to slow heart break love songs instead you should subscribe to Trap songs because they are full of energy and positive vibes.

You can also form a mantra which you can repeat to yourself every time you get negative thoughts in your head. Something as simple as "everything will be fine" also works. You have to take control of your feelings and behavior and refuse to be defeated. Let go of regret and guilt and things in life you have no control of, instead focus on now and the future and things you can control. Remember, time will always come when what you are going through now won't matter anymore.
