Here are 5 career soft skills that'll be needed in 2020.
1. ADAPTABILITY & FLEXIBILITY.
In as much as you can make plans and prepare for the future, nobody can be acurately certain what's coming. To continue being relevant in your area of specialization, you need to be receptive of new infos (flexibility) and relearn (adaptability) how your career opportunities are influenced by changing trends in the labour market and global workplace.
2. REMARKETING YOURSELF.
Even with the threat of jobs to be taken over by machines & robots, these machines & robots still needs to be operated & supervised. This will require that you remarket and rebrand yourself to fit into these new job and market, while focusing on areas such as empathy, emotional intelligence, creativity, negotiation and interpersonal skills etc.
3. EXPIRIENCE (WORK READY)
Like the title clearly points out, this skill simply require that you come to the labour market fully ready. This skill is mostly needed by fresh graduates who just left the university or college with no prior work expirience. In future, employers won't be willing to train and tutor you before hiring, they will need you to come ready (expirienced) and step straight into the job.
4. COMMUNICATION SKILL
This has been and will always be a core requirement for success in your specialization and career no matter what may come. You can't escape not having this skill since communication skill involve both oral and written communication. It will be required in many senerios like writing reports, interviews, persuasion, idea presentation etc.
5. TEAM WORK.
Wether you own a business or you work for a someone, collaboration must be required once in a while to solve problems. This can be challenging most times due to personality clashes and competition. So the future will require of you to posses an array of skills such as conflict management, emotional intelligence, communication skills and many more.
