MINISO X30 & THE EARJOY APP

In this video I give the famous language translation earbuds, The Miniso X30, and the Ai app that makes it all possible, EarJoy, a quick spin. It's quite incredible actually, but there's actually nothing ground breaking about this tech just yet. Like I mentioned in the other post about this product, Google Translate had the "Translate" app out about a decade ago that pretty much did the same thing, just not with earbuds. In fact, I'm willing to bet that the creators of this system leaned heavily on Google's prior work.

I'm yet to give it a spin in real life. I tried with with a friend that speaks a different language supported by this system. It did well with the back and forth, but struggled a little with free-form speech, especially if there's more than one person speaking. It seems to hang and think about things a little longer, analysing it, then responding nearly a minute later. Not quite real-time.

Having said that, this is good proof of concept. I expect subsequent versions to improve drastically and quickly. By this time next year I wouldn't be surprised to see proper real-time processing. Within the decade, I expect to see earbuds that work independently of apps but have resident Ai code that don't require Internet access.

Peace & Love,

Adé

We are living in the future! I really wonder what Douglas Adams would think of this. It's sad that he died so young (49). He was a visionary.

He was a pioneer of ideas for sure. He didn't live long enough to see the promise land sadly.
