TP-Link TL-MR105
After nearly a decade with a Landline/Fibre based internet supplier, I'm finally cutting the chord and freeing myself from the contract based internet access. bought this little device off Amazon to aid the transition. It's a router designed mainly for travel, or a home away from home situation, but is robust enough to serve as a main home router.
The selling point for me is that I can just insert a standard sim card, with whatever amount of data I pay for, and I'm off to the races. No contracts, no commitments, no fixed location, no nothing. I love it.
The device has some limitations, which I addressed in the video, but the pros far outweigh the cons for me. I've been using it for a week now and I absolutely love it. I'm thinking of taking it to the cafe to provide my own internet there haha. Why not? All I need is a socket and I don't have to worry about network congestion in the cafe.

I like the travel option.
I've had trouble getting a sim with enough data - do you have a provider you can recommend?
There are a few now. Most providers now provide a lot of data once you pay
£20 or over.
Lyca mobile has £15 offer for "unlimited" data for 30 days, but you have to buy it online. Otherwise it's 25 quid. Lebara has a £25 unlimited data sim for 30 days too. All pay as you go. They're a little cheaper if you get a contract.
