Unless you are left handed, the chipped side shouldn't matter much. I'm right handed so the perfect side would be where I drank from.

I use either hand but tend to drink coffee more with my left hand. The chip doesn't bother me much though. I usually throw disc golf with my right hand but I'm thinking it might be fun to try to switch a bit to the left. Maybe that would help my right hip feel better faster.
Here is my current favorite mug. It is handmade pottery. I love that it is yellow and for some reason, the brownish drippy glaze around the neck of it reminds me of warm chocolate fudge sauce.
Nice handmade pottery! I have some favorite cereal bowls that are hand made too.
