You can now put businesses on the #hive blockchain with the look and feel of Google #maps . There is a site Wavio.com which will display these business pages. You can see the hours of operations, and a blog. There is no talk in the video of giving the business owners control of this account. There is an extension for Wavio.com site, which allows you to with no copy and pasting add businesses information to Hive that are already on Google Maps. You may also import product pages from Amazon with this extension.
It doesn't look like the extension creates a new Hive account for businesses you add. I suppose there is a single Hive account that controls all of these review pages behind the scenes.
In the video these guys @dantheman and others discuss something called "Distrion" (#distrion ), and it looks like spam on the chain. Two photos and the words "i paid whoever with hbd. This is a test". There is talk of getting rewards for posting reviews to the business. There is nothing about how the business owner is going to receive the hbd. It looks like a a custodial wallet for Hive. Which seems like the worst of both worlds frankly.
They also make use of the v4v.app payment system, where you can send HBD using a QR code on a smartphone. I really hate Hive's native payment system. In bitcoin, you only get an address to send to, but in Hive merchants often require a memo they want you to put in which has to be as precise as a bitcoin address but then you need to fill in two things rather than just one. There are reasons for requiring the memo, that only apply because we reuse our accounts over and over rather than creating new ones for each transaction like bitocin.
The Waivio.com site rocks but that is for another post.
