Satisfy your cravings with this delicious fusion of a classic grilled cheese and a Philly cheesesteak. This hearty sandwich is packed with thinly sliced beef, sautéed bell peppers and onions, all enveloped in a warm, gooey blanket of melted cheese, sandwiched between perfectly toasted slices of garlic bread.

Ingredients

🥩 250g thinly sliced beef
🫑 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced
🫑 1 medium red bell pepper, sliced
🧅 1 large onion, sliced
🧄 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
🍞 8 slices of garlic bread
🧀 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar and mozzarella blend)
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🌿 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
🫒 1 tablespoon olive oil


Instructions

1- Prepare Ingredients:

  • Slice the beef into thin strips.
  • Slice the bell peppers and onions similarly.

2- Cook the Filling:

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the sliced beef, season with salt and black pepper, and cook until it's browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
  • In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and sauté the bell peppers and onions until they're tender.
  • Mix the cooked beef with the vegetables in the skillet.

3- Assemble the Sandwiches:

  • Lay out the garlic bread slices and spread softened butter on the outside of each slice.
  • Place a generous amount of the beef and vegetable mixture on the non-buttered side of half of the bread slices.
  • Sprinkle evenly with the cheese blend and top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing outwards.

4- Cook the Sandwiches:

  • Heat a clean skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place sandwiches on the skillet and cook until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is fully melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  • Press down gently with a spatula for an even cook.

5- Serve:

  • Cut each sandwich in half and serve immediately, ideally with a side of fries or a simple salad.
