Ingredients
🍗 1 small pack of chicken tenderloins
🍖 8 oz gyro lamb slices
🥒 1 cucumber
🍅 1 tomato
🌿 Fresh parsley
🧄 2 cloves of garlic
🌿 Fresh dill
🍋 1 lemon
🍷 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
🥄 1 personal-sized Greek yogurt
🧅 1 red onion (optional)
Instructions
1- Prepare the Ingredients:
- Slice the cucumber and tomato into thin slices.
- If using, finely slice the red onion.
- Mince the garlic and chop the parsley and dill.
- Open your gyro kit and set aside the pita bread.
2- Cook the Meat:
- Season the chicken tenderloins with salt and pepper.
- Heat a little oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Cook chicken tenderloins and lamb until they are browned and cooked through (approximately 7-8 minutes on each side).
- Let the cooked chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice it into strips.
3- Assemble the Gyros:
- Warm the pita bread on a dry pan for a minute on each side.
- If using the gyro kit sauce, apply it to the center of the pita. Alternatively, use the Greek yogurt mixed with minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, and red wine vinegar as a sauce.
- Layer the lamb and chicken strips on each pita.
- Top with cucumber, tomato, and red onion slices.
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
4- Serve:
- Fold the pita around the filling and serve immediately.
