Experience the rich, nutty flavor of roasted garlic combined with the creaminess of cheese and the aromatic touch of sesame seeds. This Roasted Sesame Garlic Spread is perfect as a dip, spread on toast, or as a complement to your favorite dishes. Simple yet luxurious, it's a versatile addition to your culinary repertoire.

Ingredients

🧄 2 heads of garlic
🌿 2 tablespoons sesame oil (approximately 1 tablespoon for each head of garlic)
🧀 1/2 cup cream cheese
🌰 Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

1- Preheat and Prepare Garlic:

  • Preheat your oven to 385°F (195°C).
  • Take each head of garlic and slice off the top to expose the cloves slightly.

2- Roast the Garlic:

  • Place each garlic head on a sheet of foil. Drizzle approximately 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over each, making sure to let some seep into the cloves and coat the outside.
  • Wrap the garlic heads securely in the foil and place them on a sheet pan.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for 25 minutes until the garlic is soft and the aroma fills your kitchen.

3- Prepare the Spread:

  • Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.
  • Once manageable, squeeze the cloves from the garlic skin into a mixing bowl.
  • Add 1/2 cup of cream cheese to the roasted garlic. Microwave for about 30 seconds to soften the cream cheese, making it easier to mix.
  • Mix until the garlic and cream cheese are well combined and are smooth.

4- Serve:

  • Transfer the mixture to a serving bowl and garnish with toasted sesame seeds on top.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use. Enjoy it as a dip with vegetables, on toast, or with crackers.
