Indulge in this comforting classic that pairs juicy meatballs with a luxurious, homemade gravy. Perfect for a satisfying dinner when served over creamy mashed potatoes.
Ingredients
🍖 500g ground beef
🧅 1 small onion, finely chopped
🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced
🥚 1 egg
🍞 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
🧂 1 teaspoon salt
🌿 1 teaspoon dried oregano
🧈 2 tablespoons butter
🍲 2 cups beef broth
🥄 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
🥄 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
🧂 Salt and pepper to taste
🫒 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
1- Prepare the Meatballs:
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and oregano. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Roll the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball, and set aside.
2- Cook the Meatballs:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until they are browned on all sides. This should take about 10 minutes.
Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
3- Make the Gravy:
In the same skillet, add butter and let it melt. Stir in the flour until it forms a paste. Cook for about 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring there are no lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cook the gravy until it thickens, stirring occasionally.
4- Combine & Simmer:
- Return the meatballs to the skillet, spoon the gravy over them, and let them simmer in the gravy for another 10-15 minutes, or until fully cooked through.
5- Serve:
- Serve the meatballs hot, drizzled with gravy, over a bed of mashed potatoes or with your choice of side.

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Tips:
For extra flavor, you can add a splash of red wine to the gravy.
Make sure not to overcrowd the skillet when browning the meatballs to ensure even cooking.
