The impatiens pictured above (they might be Impatiens walleriana) have been sitting atop this bookcase for the last several decades. This indoor plant originated in the tropics. The solstice is its favorite time of year as it gets some direct sunlight through a window.
Life and Death of a CCC Curator
Earlier this year I decided to make @vagabondspirit a dedicated curator for #creativecoin . My curation trail shows that the account simply upvotes CCC posts with original artwork.
I sold the account's HIVE and bought CCC in its stead.
My plan fell apart with the CCC coin failed last month. I suspect that CCC will join the growing list of dead tribal coins. I have a huge pile of dead coins. Apparently I was born to be a bag holder.
I suspect that all HE coins will eventually die.
The loss of CCC made me sad as it was supposedly designed to supplement rewards for artists on the platform.
Of course CCC was also one of the most abused coins on the platform. Most of the posts were from people who put every tribal tag on every post to maximize rewards.
Since there was no-one interested in actively developing the community, I guess it is best that the coin failed.
BTW: It would be fun to create a program that supplemented artistic creation on the platform.
If I had any influence; I would have designed a program that is completely different from CCC. As an outsider, it is not worth wasting time speculating on the right way to design a platform.
Reviving the Account
The scot bot for CCC is still running; So I will continue to upvote posts that contain artwork and use the #creativecoin tag.
I asked the @yintercept account to give @vagabondspirit a delegation so that the posts receive a HIVE reward.
To rebuild the HIVE in the account I will try publishing a photo a day on @vagabondspirit.
I happen to have a large backlog of photos that I want to upload to my photography web site. Note, I also publish photos on tumblr. #tumblr .
I find that it takes a long time to edit and process photos. I will use any rewards I receive to fund that program. I am thinking of using the #waivio interface and publishing the posts using the #photography tag. If you think that this is abuse of the tag, let me know.
I admit that, a long time ago, I had the dream of using my earnings from the Internet to fund travel. Unfortunately, I have never made enough to pay the cost of travel and am pretty much stuck to talking photos of locations within walking distance of the place that I've crashed.
I welcome comments on this new direction. If you think that just publishing photos is an abuse of the blockchain; let me know.
I was not aware for CCC, I use to use it all the time with my art posts..then I went off Hive, and kinna forgot about it when I came back. Hopefully, it will survive
If you go to the HIVE-Engine Rewards Page; you will see that your CCC is still piling up, it is just not claimable.
CCC lost 90% of its value. I suspect it will drop another 90%, but I think I will keep 50K CCC and continue curating posts with original art just to see how much uncollectable CCC I can stack up.
I would love to see a coin designed to reward users for posts with original art.

The value of my #creativecoin upvote shot through the roof. I had 54K of CCC during inktober. My upvote was worth about 7.4 CCC. I now have 47K CCC and the upvote value is worth 11.50 CCC.
The coin was supposed to be for creative content. Most of the traffic was from people who drop every Tribal tag on every post. The coin failed in its objective due to tag spam.
Hopefully people will come up with something better in the future.
BTW: I snagged a HP delegation and bought some WINE; so my upvote is worth something.
