You can made your own, natural repellent against mosquitoes:
Just mix thyme oil, Tea tree oil and Lemon eucalyptus oil. Its known for its antiseptic, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory properties. But recent studies also suggest that tea tree oil may be an effective insect repellent.
Field testing shows that repellents containing tea tree oil are effective against mosquitoes, bush flies, and biting midges. Mix it all together with wather or glycerine in a bottle and your anti-bugs spary is ready!

I feel you, I find all other insects and even spiders fascinating but mosquitoes are my #1 enemy in the forest..
The forest is my second home, its where I go when I need to gather my thoughts and reset myself a bit from the rest of society! Dont have a solution to the mosquitos though, they can be a pain in the ass in Norway as well!

Bernie we use a product called Permethrin we lightly soak our outdoor clothing with it. Then after it dries we wear it. It lasts for 6 weeks or 6 washings. I dont get one bite if I am wearing my outdoor gear sprayed with it.
We only use deet on the exposed areas. You are right about the natural sprays they just don't work.
