Ello again everyone! Just spent most of my day moving oranges and manure around the countryside in a wheelbarrow.
I could have waited and got my mum to drive to the riding stables (about a kilometre from our house) but where's the fun in that? Also if theres a cool breeze and views like this, its not so bad.
So after getting the manure (which had hay that went bad in the rain mixed in) I then mixed it with some mouldy olives, straw and compost before leaving it to sit. Now that I've explained that, it's time for a garden tour!
First of all we have what my family calls 'the lawn', right next to the house and with the pool at the far end.
Then we have a dry, barren (because of all the shady trees and us walking on it a lot) terrace that is more or less in the center of the land and has the shed with all the garden tools in it.
Next would be the lowest terrace which has one wooden hut on it and the compost heap, it borders the riverbed of the nearby stream.
(Almost unused set of stairs between bottom and top terrace which are very overgrown)
And finally we have the very long top terrace which has two wooden huts on it and is one of the spots which should be good for planting on, because that section of azequia (the irrigation system made by the moors centuries ago) is the first to receive water and is in the full sun, perfect for plants which like lots of water and sunlight like lettuces and tomatoes.
(Above is an outdoor dry toilet/shower)
As you can see it's in a pretty bad state, but nothing that can't be fixed :).
Nice tour Adam!
I look forward to seeing more of your permaculture projects all in preparation for when I finally find some land =)
Nice pic's!
Wow, what a beautiful #walkwithme, you live in Paradise my friend, that is the life! Those mountains, the lush green everywhere...the home doesn't look in a bad state to me, it looks amazing! Thanks so much for this glimpse into your life...<3
well, it's a bit overgrown haha
Thanks for sharing! Really eye opening for me seeing this! Really! I have a very different life than what you have! Just know that you are living in what other people (including me) would consider paradise!
As everyone is keen to tell me lol
