Abandoned and Strip-Cleared - Part 2 of 2

in #walkwithme7 years ago (edited)

Here is the second set of captures from my recent walk around an old abandoned property in Howell, New Jersey.

It's been abandoned for over a year and I could tell that at least one squatter had set up a make-shift camp in one of the out buildings.

The grounds used to be extremely overgrown with many large willow trees and other shrubbery. You can see a large pile of the chipped and shredded trees in one of the images.

My favorite capture was taken through the front window as I looked at the main stairway, fireplace, and decorative ceiling. However, I could do without the gaudy, green carpet 🤮 And I see that they even left behind a nice Cadillac!

It will be interesting to check back in the future to see what becomes of this property!

For the first post in this series, please see Abandoned and Strip-Cleared - Part 1 of 2.

Every abandoned house needs a frosty bowling ball 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏼

Nice shots! Do you know if anyone will be fixing it up soon?

Fantastic Photos, the clarity is amazing! Very nice post here, Thanks.

This is a great read @cognoscere. I hate to be that guy vut the house (especially the front) reminds me of the scene from The Sopranos where the FBI turn up abd start chasing the mob through the snow. I will try and find a link to the video online lol

Well explained and marvelous captures you've taken. Various and hide looking clicks. You have more variation skills for photography. Appreciated.

I am still new to steem but your portfolio is brilliant, really somthing to be proud off. I will share your profile with my Crypto Circles.

My apologise for posting twice in your comments.

Outstanding scenery. Old looks photo shots. But most stunning with old looks. Excellent #walkwithme post @cognoscere.

More historical pictures.@cognoscere, I've check and looked your last part 1. It's more attractive. This one going same way. You've nice eye and vision.

Definitely a good setting for a murder mystery. I can imagine all kinds of bad things happening around here.

Very nice job!
You have a good plans :)
Please, check my blog, i'm new here in Steemit :)

I see you got an inside shot of one of the fireplaces. Green rug very tacky indeed. The ceiling and stairway look impressive.

A Yagi antenna!! Gee, this house looks like it was very nice at one time - the front doors are wood and the inside looks grand - except for the said green carpet...ick. How decor has changed.

I have to say I would have been so tempted to "borrow" the bowling ball for my garden.

So much mold and mildew around I doubt this house would be able to be restored.

Amazing photography
For your post propagation.

that main house is huge and it seems like it could be restored! That green carpeting (circa 1972) is something else! Thanks
