Today was a busy day here. I was transplanting by 7am, in the greenhouse by 9:30. From there ended up tilling and attempting to burn out a stump. We didn't finish outside until 7pm. Also.....there were ducks. Walk with me today while I do a bunch of stuff!
Oh, hello! Where did you come from?😍
Transplanting Calendula this round
It is so nice out, I let the chickens out to free range since I was in the greenhouse and the dog was out to guard them. Since the attack they have been kind of restricted. They were sooooo happy today!
First the older gals checked out the old dust bath. It got rained on but is almost dry now
The teenagers hung back...they are like 2 separate gangs right now
Oh, 2 of my 4 girls are boys. So, ya. See those tail feathers?😕
Since the dust bath sucked, the ladies found this place that we ripped up last year to divert some of the flooding water from our yard.
That's the good stuff. Get right in there haha!
Penelope is the highest
Afterwards we rolled the #chickenstumps for them. Every couple of weeks you just move them a bit and they attack all the bugs underneath!
Billie is the first to notice
Penelope on top. She must be in charge today
Some greenhouse pics while I'm checking on things for water. I spent 5 hours watering yesterday so it's pretty good in here right now.
Pretty Love Lies Bleeding Amaranth
These are all of the watermelons, pumpkins, cukes and squashes. Wonder when the squash bugs will show up?
Rosie and Thai Basils for the Herb CSA baskets
Other herbs for the CSA
Flowers ginger and herbs
Green and Violet Tomatillos
We also tilled the new section of garden and started to rake the new soil and compost in. That will hopefully be finished tomorrow!
We also started the mini controlled burn to clear this stump. The farmer next door is hauling more brush here tomorrow to get it hot enough to burn properly and I will be able to collect all of the ashes for the animals and gardens.
I was going to pack it in, but I think I am going to head out to rake more before sunset! Or maybe I will play with the ducks some more....yes. The ducks win ❤
My husband showed up with these sweeties last night as a surprise for me ❤
I hope you are having a groovy Saturday!
Thank you for reading! Take care of you and yours ❤

Greetings from a fellow Canadian, in ChiangMai, Thailand.
Great post highlighting what seems to have been a great day!
Having grown up in the countryside (Wellandport, Ontario), I was thrilled to escape it at around age 20. Now, however, I much prefer rural life / scenes (or the seaside) to urban chaos and convenience.
The one clear advantage of rural life is that it's sustainable. Urban life clearly is NOT sustainable.
Cheers, and Full Steem Ahead, here on this platform or on your land!
Oh wow, that is about 5 hours from here, I am in Ottawa! We are in the middle of urban life but on a NCC property on the greenbelt.
I am a city turned country girl, and i want to be even more rural! I would love to live in the Gatineau hills.....
Or out east. Need water!
Cheers to you as well, life must be exciting in Thailand! So pleased to meet you!!
Wow, a full day! And the ducks are so cute!! 😁
Yesterday was even crazier....omg yes they are so cute. I am a bit overwhelmed by adding them into the mix at the moment lol! But hey, might as well! They needed a home <3
I loved seeing all this growth and new life. Those ducklings are too much! Thanks for sharing.
