I love this story, had me captivated with eerie intrigue. Brought back vivid memories of myself at 10 years old, exploring (trespassing) with my friends through a burned and abandoned hotel. Everything was in place including the cutlery on tables and glasses at the bar, but covered in dust and soot. As I walked through, I felt the energy of the life that once was and could envision activities that would have taken place before time stood eternally still. Nature was already growing up and around this building as well and the structure was very unstable which still makes me wonder why I trusted the burnt staircase enough to explore the upstairs bedrooms.
I could get lost in your pictures, imagining how things were originally. How incredible for your friend to be able to personally archive the changes over so many years.

It's amazing to me that it sat for so long virtually untouched. It's like the heirs of the estate didn't think it was worth their bother to visit and take care of. Very strange and that made me scratch my head in contemplation more than once.
Boy, you guys were lucky you didn't get hurt in the burned out hotel...I'm glad you weren't. ;)
Phew..me too..I was clearly much more fearless in my youth, certainly not now! And hopefully my kids don't do dangerous things like that..I can feel more grey hairs growing just talking about it. Haha
