Why do people say no to love.
You’ll kiss someone in a cafe and the waiters will kick you out.
You’ll hug someone in the street and the people will glare.
Like you’re some fucking alien,
Like love, is not normal.
Like repression is normal for them.

Why do people run away.
When they’re hugged and they can’t come forward.
When they’re invited to love but they close the fucking door.
Like they’re scared of what’s going to happen,
If they open their heart a little more.
If they let in some light,
Because they’re too accustomed to the void.

And why can’t people love themselves.
Can’t look in the mirror for two minutes without blinking.
Can’t sleep naked in their own bed,
Can’t be who they want in public.
The fear of other people is an illusion,
But they’re stuck so deep they don’t know who they are.

We need more love.
We need to love ourselves and each other.
We need to hug openly and cry feeling,
Because if you think you’re taking your bank balance with you,
You’re wrong.
Because if you haven’t loved, in every minute.
In every motion of life.
The rest of it didn’t mean anything.

So trust the universe. Do something different.
Stop repressing yourself and repressing others.
You’re only making yourself miserable.
Love is that multicoloured rainbow,
Where everyone has a home.
So find your way back home.
It’s waiting for you.
