I once admired a woman in a certain church I was worshipping at, sometimes last year. I loved the way she dressed and just wanted to get close and interact. Each time I started approaching her I'd always hesitate. Why? you may wonder.

The simple seemingly inconsequential reason was because I felt she was always frowning which made me always apprehensive in approaching her. Boy! I didn't wanna get shunned so I had to squash any idea of being friends with her, until some later in the year when we had to work on a project together. We started relating and I realized she wasn't even as hard as I had earlier assumed .
One day I jokingly told her about my initial thought about her and she laughed and was like she just doesn't know how to smile. Mehn!!! 😂😂 who doesn't know how to smile.
The moral lesson of this story is that most times when we frown or keep a straight face, it gets people scared of approaching or getting to know us better (just like John Casey in Chuck, lol) . Hell ! it could even make immature people judge us wrongly.
You never can tell who's trying to approach you or say hello, a little gesture like a smile could serve as a boost to the person. Some of us sometimes get so defensive and claim its a straight face, some even go as far as saying they don't have a smiling face. Lol, they're all just excuses really. Smiling makes people comfortable around you as they perceive you to be friendly.

Smiling also comes with some benefits like; lowering your stress level by the release of some chemicals known as endorphins which triggers a positive feeling thereby putting you in a good mood 😎. Smiling also prevents your skin especially your face from wrinkling because you require less muscular movements to smile than frown. Smiling is also contagious, encouraging the person next to you to smile. Imagine a world filled with smiling faces, regardless of any difficult situation one might be going through.
As you go about your daily activities today, remember to take awhile to check yourself to see if you're smiling 😄☺
Yea, I've been trying to keep a smile whenever I'm around people.
I find that my idle face looks a bit mean hahaha.
