Mindanao island is the second largest (after Luzon) in the Philippines, third is the island of Visayas.
Mindanao has the largest concentration of ethnic minorities in the Philippines. Which cause trouble due to misunderstanding of religion belief, discrimination and inequality treatment.
As the helicopter passes by every minutes , a 4 years old girl was so happy seeing it. if only she knew what happening right now, lot of people is now shaking in fears.
A peaceful island is now suffering due to a heart breaking situations.
A day Before our beloved President Rodrigo Duterte leaved our country for an important meeting to be attended, Mindanao is Enjoying Peaceful living in marawi City. Marawi City is a Muslim area, there are some christian living in marawi but most of the population is maranao people. Marawi City is 37.9 km distance away from our City.
May 22,2017 the terrorist Maute group attacked Marawi city. Lot of establishment damaged. They burned lot of houses in marawi, they destroyed the City jail and released all the criminals and they forces the inmates to joined there group. One of the college school was turned in to Ashe's. They didn't passed to attacked the AMAI PAKPAK MEDICAL CENTER which they killed the doctors, nurses and also the 2 drivers in the hospital. Lots of civilian have killed mostly are Christian. Churches are burned, priest is killed and torture .Some of Our beloved soldier's who protect and fight against this terrorist are killed. The terrorist cut the head of some innocent.
As gunfire and bomb explosion echoed from the town the sadness permeated.
This terrorist made the Marawi into a Lost City. Many lives have fallen. Many innocent people died because of the selfish people who don't know what they are fighting for. They are supported by the corrupt government people, former government candidates who lost the candidacy, powerful druglords and other enemy of the President who didn't do wrong to them , but to loved and protect the country.
When the President heard what happened to his country he decided to cut his meeting in Russia just to go home .He declared MARTIAL LAW in Mindanao ONLY and leaved a message to his people saying "Don't be afraid I'll be home ". The proclamation, signed on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Declaring martial law in Mindanao was released on Wednesday evening, May 24, 2017. This President proved that he really loved his people. He deployed many soldiers in Mindanao some soldiers came from other places to help.
When the declaration of Martial Law. Lots of speculation comes out. People who is not from Mindanao is proclaiming/ fighting against Martial law. We from Mindanao got confused why people acting pathetic, why are you afraid in Martial Law when your not doing wrong ? , they say bad against Martial law are you guys a terrorist ? when the truth is Martial Law is what we need,we feel safe and secured .
I'm from Mindanao and Martial Law is good idea because we from Mindanao need peace justice and humanity that terrorist took to us. People not lived in Mindanao they don't know how we feels, how are we doing or thinking are we still safe from the terrorist who is now putting flags introducing whey are now alliance in ISIS ?
Instead of raising bad opinions let just be united, all we need is to be ONE. Pray for everyone to be safe specially to our soldiers and civilian who still in critical areas, helping one another is not a big thing. Because right now we are not okey knowing that the beautiful people of Lanao Del Sur are terrorized, locked indoors, while others were killed. We are not okey because the crisis that Marawi City is facing right now is whole country's crisis.
