yea but much of the people in jails for using wouldnt be there, so there would be a lot less demand in the jail economy. And perhaps there would no longer be jails.

there would still be jails, drug prohibition surly increases the number of people who get incarcerated but many if not most of them are assholes who would be there anyhow for something else. A corner crack dealer wouldn't go legit if crack was legal, they would find some other criminal enterprise.
disagree i think most people would go legit if they could make more and safer money.
but would the crack store hire someone with a lengthy criminal record or a college graduate? Would that guy be able to beat Walmart's price without evading taxes?
