One thing you can do is look at each person's acount and check his/her comments and see if they are just leaving the same type of non-content reply on every whale/creator's posts in order to try and fish for upclicks on their praise posts. I agree most of the responses seem to show zero understanding of what the poster either said or what the video was about.

This is a VERY good point jbgarrison72! What a lot of people don't realize is that this is a reputation-based platform. Sure, there may be favoritism going on in some parts, but I've met some very honest, hard-working people on Steemit who really evaluate the content before they post. Gone are the days (hopefully) where someone gets rewarded for saying "what a fantastic post." Substance, thoughtfulness, honesty and patience are king here....or, at least they should be. Peace to you and yours.
