26 March: Independence Day of Bangladesh

26th march is Independence day of Bangladesh, in this day independence was declared from Pakistan in late hours of 25 March 1971 by the "Father of the Nation" Bongobondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman before he was arrested by Pakistani forces.It is National holiday in Bangladesh.

This day is memorable because thousands of civilians died in liberation war of Bangladesh. Parades, political speeches, fairs, concerts, and ceremonies, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, and traditions of Bangladesh, to remember and charish the sacrifices. Streets are seen to be decorated with national flag. TV channels broadcast patriotic songs and shows related with independence. Different organization, political parties arranges programmes. The day is also celebrated by paying respect at Jatiyo
Smriti Soudh.

Mainly on this day in 1971 independence was declared and war for liberation started after the declaration. The people of then East Pakistan took part in the war to take freedom from injustice and oppression of military leader of Pakistan. The people from all status joined with whatever sources they have. The glorious independent is the result of nine month civil war against the Pakistani army. It is earned through sacrifices of many lives, lots of blood. Bangladesh people celebrate the day with due respect and dignity.
