Human body without any doubts is made out of water and unfortunately people do not understand this. Water is the most essential element of life, if you make sure you have the healthy approach to drink water you will be on the good way.
Whoever said water is life, was so spot on... I just want more people to understand how important water is to your body, and if you are not aware of the importance of the water make sure that from now on you will fix it.
So here are few facts:
- brain is 90% water
- blood is 85% water
- lungs are 83% water
- kidney are 79% water
- heart is 73% water
- muscles are 72% water
Reasons why you should drink water?
Remove toxins; without water, the liver and the kidneys (human's body natural filters) can not function at the optimal level. Water helps t remove waste and toxins from the body.
Regulation of body temperature; water helps the body to regulate internal temperature. Water prevent the body from overheating.
Healthy muscles and joints. Water play significant role in creation of synovial fluid, which is an essential component of the joint health. It protects joints and cartilage by working as a lubricant.
Healthy skin; water hydrate skin and most importantly help to keep its firmness and elasticity. Drinking an adequate amount of water helps to flush toxins and sow the signs of aging in particular formation of wrinkles.
Healthy digestion; water promote healthy digestion and bowel movements, preventing from constipation. When dehydrated work of digestive system is compromised and mucous membranes are not able to perform their protective action.
Pain relief; headache, migraine, pain in the lower back, joints, muscles and other areas are one of the symptoms of dehydration.
Energy; water is an important source of energy for the body. Water deliver oxygen and nutrients to every cell in the body and promotes a healthy metabolism.
Weight control; water increase the metabolism, regulate appetite and reduce feeling of hunger. Water does not have any calories and it is an important part of any diet.
What are the symptoms of dehydration?
dizziness
headache
dry mouth and thirst
fatigue, weakness
shortness of breath and increased heart rate
Now the very important question should arise. How much water should you drink?
The simple rule of thumb is to drink always when you feel thirsty. However this algorithm was introduced to me while ago and makes so much sense.
weight in kilos X 0.03 = Amount of daily intake of water.
So for example if you weight 50kg multiple by 0.03 and will give you the optimal daily amount of water which is 1,5 liter just for you to drink. Person who weight 80kg will need 2,4 liter of water a day, someone who weight 75kg will need 2,25 liter of water a day. Child will need less water than adults.
It is important to remember that water requirement increase with higher temperature so you can drink more to replace the loss of water by sweating, and everyone have different daily requirement even due to the weight. It is very important to remember when people have medical conditions as heart problems, kidney problems it is vital to check with your doctor if you are not doing yourself any damage with drinking so much water.
I did give myself a great present few years ago by starting drinking enough amount of water to ensure my body is hydrated, and how was my big surprised when I really did not feel better when drinking more water. The revolution came when I made sure I start day with glass of cooled boiled water, sometimes with lemon, lime of pinch of sea salt, himalayan salt etc. I feel so much better. I do not drink bottled water at all.
All he best and stay hydrated :)
Lots of love from Margo :)
I try to drink tea as little as possible and drink plain water. I also try not to pour water when I'm swimming. Although we do not yet have a shortage of water in the country, but in many countries even for dirty water it is necessary to walk several kilometers.
I know We are so blessed with the fact We have water and even so We still do not drink enough.
From today ignorance is not an option after reading this article :)
I had a challenge to stop drinking tea, however when I started drinking hot water with pinch of salt or with lemon I am cured from drinking tea or coffee for good :)
Amazing.... I had no idea water was this important even tho I knew it was important
Me too til I started exploring the topic much further by myself. Especially when I experienced some symptoms of not drinking enough water. The solution was so effective that more than less I do not suffer anymore from headaches related to dehydration.
