Here is the problem and here is the solution. Most of them - patches over holes in the road. The road can also be taken apart and a new one built from scratch, but if the question why it got that way in the first place is never asked, the same methods and materials used for the new one, the end result is always going to be the same.
Witnessing patching over and over again new question arises - do we actually want sustainable, long term solutions? Patching is more profitable. Let’s patch forever. Waste energy, material on doing the same failing things and never move forward. Progress? There is profit to be made!

love your pointilism and detail... this is something i give thought to sometimes re: our culture.. honestly it is so frustrating to me -- so much of our culture is just patch patch patch with no thought about dipping in to see how the root of the problem contributes to the patch.
for me lately i have been healing some chronic issues with my reproductive system. for years i have visited different doctors who want to patch patch patch the problem, and because i wanted to dig deeper to truly heal it, i have gone a natural way that seeks to truly address the issue. there is no similarity there - in a world where the patch is the accepted course of action. and yet -- i vote for healing. <3

It is the same here as well. For years. I think people just have stopped questioning the patching problem. Turned the blind eye. But I want to believe human creativity is not dead yet and there are so many creative ways of solving the same problem, all it takes is little bit of willingness and waking up.
I recently had back issues. Doctor offered me the patch too - pain medicine. What caused the pain? If I did not question the patch would have been the solution. Short term anyway. Cheers to true healing! ^^
Yes. It is some kind of a curse that people tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. Always treating and healing the symptoms without investigating the cause.
The question is, how long does it take for people to understand this and start doing something about it?
Years. In some cases never. People are so dulled down they might get pissed about certain things for five minutes and then they go about their day not giving it much of the thought. Maybe they remember about it when patchers show up.
I hope people wake up and get more angry or at least thoughtful enough and willing enough to stop patching.

Muse is one of my all time favorite bands. I specifically love lyrics of their songs. The themes they pick are timely. And of course they are badass rockstars. I've seen them playing live three times myself and can't wait to see more of them. When they toured with Drones I took my brother. It was his first concert ever and he was happy for months after.
Yes, they are truly legendary and I hope to see them at a concert at least once! However, I feel like their quality of music is dropping slightly. In my opinion, their first albums like showbiz and black holes and revelations were much better, now they are sounding almost like Imagine Dragons xD , but this is just my opinion :) .

Thank you @verygod! I live about five minutes from a lake myself. We have white water lilies there. Once my brother brought one home, but it died the next day, so I prefer them in their natural habitat :)
It should be, but who has time to think of progress..This is said with irony @m31, and this what you wrote can be transposed at so many aspects in life...But I think it comes to this, people don't want to make effort, it's much easier to choose shorter path...

You are right. The example I used indeed can be used for many aspects in life. That was my intention. What I really hate to see is that sometimes those who don't take shortcuts are less awarded than those who do. It angers me greatly, but life is never fair, is it? :)
Yes, it life and especially I think it's now days, the time we live @m31 ..People are bombed with information, apps, and it's coming from all around.They are trying to ''catch up'' to stay in tune and trend so looking for short simple things...Long posts, talking about steemit and art that fright and is provocative, talking about regular reality outside Steemit, is valued more than simple and honest emotions..Yesterday I had similar conversation with my therapist..We agreed that today showing true emotions is becoming for many, sign of weakness. So people are turning to simple and raw staff..Short way to call it..
I was wondering how the Lily connects to the writing... So I checked, and it seems the water lily is a symbol for rebirth, optimism, creation and fertility =)
