I think as an adult if you don't know how to swim and be cautious near lakes, rivers, the ocean and swimming pools then that's a good safe strategy.
The news I read sometimes is of the people who might drink too much and fall into water by accident or go out on a small boat and then fall into a lake and sometimes it ends in tragedy. Whereas if they stayed away from the water it would be ok. Even people who swim strongly need to be cautious too or currents on rivers or the ocean.
I'm not trying to criticise people who can't swim and as an adult you may still learn if you want to if there are lessons after covid has improved around the world. To me it's a great life skill and then you can show your kids too and bring them to lessons.
My vote value is too small to be worthwhile on comments so I voted some of your posts instead.
