hard to tell what you should do , probably cleaning up hard drive could help and check for maleware , it could also be that it is running updates in the back ground , what are the specs of the machine ?

Well the best way to troubleshoot this issue is to open your bios and then try to check memory scan perhaps to see if there are any bad sectors in the hard drive.
