I find people amusing. Some get excited about my books and would looooo-ooove to read them, but walk away with nothing. Others act disinterested only to return and buy one. This unpredictability makes life as an author interesting.

That's quite interesting. The first group loves to show off. The second group is the actual book readers.
Yeah, some of those book readers actually say they don't read books until they find out I'm the author. Others are intrigued when I tell them what my books are about.
I believe most authors don't meet their readers, but only read their reviews on line after the books have been read. Your experience in unique!
That's true. Most authors don't get to meet their readers. I love it.
