Dude! I’ve just recently been discovering the beauties of dandelion!!! It’s hard to find medicinal uses and preparation methods in the US, but from what I remember seeing, it does have value for something…what do you personally use it for?
Everything! Food, medicine, and also the roasted root makes great coffee. And I mean GREAT, with delicious flavor and smell. You can eat the leaves mixed into salads, add them to soups or stir fried. You can use them as tea if you're more after the medicinal effects which include liver detox and overall cleansing of the organs (search for dandelion in Scholar Google, tons of scientific evidence backing it). Dandelion is also one of the greens with the highest concentration of vitamins, minerals and protein, so it's pretty much perfect in that sense. I'll try and conjure a detailed post on it when I find the inspiration for blogging again haha
I will look out for that!!! But for now, this really covers the backbone of it all…I’m gonna see if I can find some tomorrow with enough root to roast, that sounds awesome. Are you mixing it with coffee grounds? Or just making a coffee/tea strictly from roasted root?
Just the root will do, nothing else needed. If you get the roasting right you're good to go ;)
When hunting for roots look for the plants with the biggest leaves and that have a higher number of them, those will yield big roots. The other small ones aren't worth the trouble.
