Yeah, I can totally imagine!!! Same here, used to go quite often, but it drastically dropped, due to the kids :-)
Can't imagine the terror those shootings must have on people... It's been quite a dramatic week for those things again in the US we notices (we're keeping a close eye out now, since our son is over in the states...).
We kinda have the same thing, we used to visit Christmas markets in the cities quite a lot in wintertime, but in the past few years we've been avoiding them. During the 2016 Brussels bomb attacks, I was stuck between the two locations where they had bombed. It was pretty terrifying to be honest...

My MS makes getting out difficult, so it's become a great excuse to just stay home and be a recluse!

Oh boy, sorry to hear that! I can imagine that's indeed a good reason to stay inside...
Our son is in Great Falls, Montana, and he's loving it out there! He'll be heading back home this weekend, but I can already feel that he'll be saving up to go back to the US as soon as he can! Most probably even to stay and live there if anyway possible...
And sometimes I'm thinking... Should we join him? ;-)
Montana is fabulous and would be a wonderful place to live! It doesn't get much better than Great Falls for those that love nature and being outdoors.

Hot! It's a big city, but I do enjoy Arizona, especially the more remote areas. The desert is fascinating, but I don't think I would want to live there.
