The only benefit of having undelegated HP is the amount of Hive given to others for upvoting their content.
Therefore, in order to maximise the daily payment from Ecency I am delegating as much as I can.
It’s the same with FIAT money. While it’s sitting in a savings account it’s losing money. If it’s in a high yield bonus saver or invested in something it’s earning money.
“Give each dollar a job”.
My delegation is earning Hive and points from Ecency. With the points I boost or promote my posts or be a blessing to others. With the Hive I can power up for PUD like I will Jan 1st or buy SWAP.btc on Hive Engine.
It was the Hive from Ecency that I sent to you.
At some point I will lower my delegation to increase the upvote benefit to other Hive users but for now it’s workin
I understand. It makes a lot of sense now 🤭
I do the same with HBD. Reinvesting in something that generates more of itself.
I made the mistake of taking out 800 HBD last year and it's been really difficult to build it up again. I would be generating a lot of interest HBD now if I didn't.
You're right. But I guess last year HBD wasn't generating that interest and there wasn't a way to know it would change, right? Now I'm adding HBD to my savings but I guess sometimes I'm gonna need to take out some of it.
Last year HBD was generating 20% APR, not 15%. It takes discipline to leave HBD in savings, but it becomes easier when you realise how expensive it is to take it out.
I am kicking myself that I withdrew any of it.
I now treat it like superannuation/ 401K. It needs to only be taken out in retirement.
If I need liquid HBD then I need to be posting more often and either wait or convert Hive over.
That's a good way to see it. Savings for retirement. The big question is, when will be the right time to retire from Hive? At what age? !LOLZ

I wouldn’t retire from Hive. There's a community called Silver Bloggers of older Hive users, mostly retired.
Omg, that's great. The only way for us to retire from Hive is leaving this world. !LOLZ
