I have not named her so far.
Some people name their hawks, and others do not.
If they call their hawks to their arms, then they do it by whistling.
So even if they name their hawks, they do not call them by their names.
At least so far I have not seen anyone, who would call their hawk to his/her arm by the name of their bird.
Maybe it is possible, maybe not.
Maybe it is depending on the bird.
Every bird is an individual with different personalities. Just like people.
That is very interesting! So even if you name a bird, you typically can't expect them to recognize their name as their name. You've probably just saved me hours of frustration in the future with the crows :)
Currently I do not know about crows. This applies only to Harris's hawks and predatory birds in general. Maybe it is possible to teach their names to the Harris's hawks and to the prefatory birds, but I have not seen anyone doing it so far, and I have not tried it so far.
Fair enough! I won’t rule it out, but I also won’t go about expecting it! 😁
