In Facebook groups, people write comments. They do not ask if you comment under other people's posts. They are there for the content.
On the Hive blockchain, currently there are no human comments under my last 4 posts. Not even after post promoting.
I think it is rooted back in times of steemit where a short comment is frowned upon. But not sure how things have evolved lately here on hive. What do you think?
As long as the comment is meaningful, it should be good. A short comment can also be meaningful. A short post too.
There are many people on Facebook whose posts receive no comments too. I agree with you though, commenting on Hive can be better, but people also want to put out their content and that limits their ability to interact with others I guess
Yes. This is the case. Most people focus on posting. To be honest, nowadays me too. Usually I document my life. There was a time, when I focused on commenting. Not worth it. It did not increased the number of comments under my posts.
Build a circle of friends it's helps a lot and do well to also be consistent in commenting on others post
I tried it. Multiple times. I was in the top of the Hive engagement league multiple times. Nowadays I rather post mostly for myself on the Hive blockchain, and if I would like to have real interaction, then I go to Facebook groups.
Or I think having some friends is better but whatever it is just focus on building yourself
On Facebook short comments are appreciated, the people that mostly view your posts are the people you know and are friend or family with.
The question is how many of those friends are here on hive? You need to build a circle, create engaging contents and join a supportive community to boost your self esteem
Short comments are appreciated on the Hive blockchain too. As long as they are meaningful.
This is not true at all. Most of them are strangers in the Facebook groups. There are many foreigners too.
I do not have much friends in real life, nor on Facebook.
Am I? Not in Facebook groups. I post something, and people comment/reply/answer. Because people are there for the content. You do not need to build "a circle" on a properly working social network. The circle is already there in the form of a real community. The Hive blockchain is very different.
It can be frustrating, but if you aren’t getting comments or attention on your posts, maybe try something different with your content to help increase the engagement of your posts.
What won’t help build your followers and content engagement is whining about it.
I am not whining about it at all. I am just writing facts. The truth. And it is not only under my posts. There are posts from many authors without comments. It is not even frustrating anymore. I write mostly for myself on the Hive blockchain, and if I would like to have real interaction, then I go to Facebook groups.
Share your Hive posts there and drive people here…
I have many posts that don’t get comments. I am finding that my short form stuff is getting way more engagement than the long form posts. Its a grind, just like anywhere else.
Hell the only people I ever have commenting on my Facebook posts are family, 😂 I get way more engagement here than on mainstream social media. But I have also worked my ass off to build my circle of people. Shit, I mean I have 3 projects I have built on this chain, @blocktunes, @hivelist, and @hivehustlers, and still struggle at times to get engagement. Just the nature of the beast. At least Hive pays me, Facebook doesn’t!
The only person I successfully invited to Steem/Hive was my brother so far, but he left the platform years ago because of the lack of the interaction. He completely lost his interest in the Steem/Hive blockchain, and I can completely understand him.
I use Facebook groups for certain interests. I always receive comments, if I post something. Both from friends and from strangers too. Often from foreigners too. There are many good and active Facebook communities. Really active groups.
Facebook also pays. Not necessarily monetarily, but interactions. Post in the right group, and people will certainly care and write a comment. It is immediately visible from their comment that they actually care, and that they actually read the post.
On Hive? Sometimes people comment under a giveaway winner announcement post that they would like to participate in the giveaway. So sometimes even if they comment, it is obvious that they do not read even the title of the post, let alone the post itself.
Again, I am not whining, but this is one of the most disappointing things around Hive. Because it is completely obvious that people do not really care about the posts. And not only about mine posts, but posts in general.
Maybe it is indeed the best to go to Hive for money, and go to Facebook for interaction.
Well let me ask you, do you go and comment and engage in other people’s posts? This was a big factor with me. I wasn’t getting anything until I started interacting with others.
This is something that people do not ask on Facebook, yet they still interact with posts, which they are interested in. I comment under other people's posts, if I have something to say or ask. I do not force myself to comment under other people's posts (like many people do), and certainly not dozens of comments per day. I use the platform naturally. I have a life to live, and that is not on the internet.
Well if you think Facebook is best, then use it. If that’s where you feel more valued, then more power to you.
I don’t ask for comments on my posts unless I am posing a question to the community.
Do I agree the engagement needs to be better here on Hive, absolutely and is something that I do talk about with others, but I work at finding solutions instead of giving excuses. The short form Threads and Waves are helping with that, IMO.
We all have lives to live bud, you aren’t the only one. But there are those of us that make the effort to help build this community with what little time we do have.
Is Facebook still alive
Yes. The Facebook groups are more alive than the Hive blockchain communities. Because people are there for the content, and not for the money. Big difference. If the same would be true for the Hive blockchain too, then this platform would also be successful.
I had no idea because last time I checked Facebook was few years back... and yes it is the sad truth of hive 😪😓
