The lower the Hive price, the less people are using the Hive blockchain.
And some people say that this platform is a Facebook/Twitter/Reddit (or anything else) killer platform.
Certainly not with this approach.
People need to grow up to this otherwise technically revolutionary platform.
what if we see it the other way around. less people using hive, the lower the price.
I wouldn't say it's a facebook/twitter/reddit killer but I think it's a good space to share and write about our life or how to advise others. I'd say it's definitely better than blogspot
Hive is indeed a good personal diary (to write about our lives) (mostly for ourselves).
People can try to advise others, but without actual content consumers (readers), it is pointless.
Blogspot is also good on its own.
You can even monetize it (with Google AdSense), if you like.
Years ago I regularly wrote about Linux related things on Blogspot.
Nowadays I do not even have a PC/laptop, so nowadays I am not using Linux.
Except my Motorola Moto G22 (Android 12) smartphone.
Well there are some readers right but ya there could be more. I try to share mine out so maybe web2 people see it.
Another key point is that it's kept there on the blockchain. We can't get banned here . I mean the platform could hide our stuff but it's still gonna be there.
I think hive is better than blogspot. Still haha just personal opinion
Sometimes ad has issues and can't monetize cause there's some rules there.
Hive on the technical level is certainly better than Blogspot.
The main advantage of the Hive blockchain is exactly the censorship resistance.
Everything people are posting remains on the blockchain in an unedited, undeletable way.
Even if people edit their posts/comments on the frontends, still all of the edits will be visible on the blockchain.
And the posts/comments cannot be actually deleted.
Only on the frontends, but they will be still readable on the blockchain level.
No one can delete them.
I heard that theoretically even if it would be possible to delete the posts/comments, it would technically break the entire Hive blockchain.
Ya so hive can be better if we can market it . Everyone using hive stakeholders need to help bring people to hive.
Even blogspot is no good with no readers you need to drive traffic. Same goes for hive .
I still feel hive is an underrated blockchain. Just need some more builders and more marketing
Nah we don't wanna break hive XD
And proper marketing.
Steem/Hive had marketing in the past, but bad. It was advertised with the "post, vote, earn" slogan. This attracts mostly the selfish and greedy people, so it contributes to (drive) the ruining factor.
The result of that bad marketing is the current main userbase of the platform.
But currently still this is what most Hive users do.
Not on the technical level, but with their behavior.
I don't think that Hive is a Facebook/X/Reddit killer, because it is a different kind of social media. Every platform has their users and I think that won't change any soon.
Honestly, the only, but essential thing (for a properly working social network) what is generally missing on Hive is exactly the real content consumers, who would turn this platform into a properly working social network.
Well, as you have said before, almost every one here is focused on create posts/content and don't usually read from other authors. I like to read and comment on other people's content, but I wouldn't receive anything from curation because of my low HP, I guess that's why people here generally don't read other's content.
The (theoretical) solution for this is Comment Rewarder: Introducing CommentRewarder - A new service to reward comments.
I am using it on my posts for some time now, but the number of the comments are mostly still low.
I am gonna read it!
I like to read other people's posts because I get to know them and/or to learn new things. That's the best part of Hive for me.
And honestly this is how people ruin an otherwise technically revolutionary platform.
On Facebook, no one check the price of the Facebook share, nor how many Facebook shares you own.
They simply naturally use the platform.
They are there for the content.
They actually really genuinely care about the content.
The same goes for YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and for any other properly working social network.
Why the Hive blockchain users cannot do the same?
If the Hive blockchain users would do the same, then this platform would properly work as a social network, and probably the price (the value) of the Hive would also be higher.
I'm with you on this. But I think that we can't force other people to do or to behave as we want. So, the only thing we can do is to do our parts and do those things we want others to do. Maybe someday the rest of users begins to do it too.
PS: I read what I just wrote and I think it is a little confusing. I hope it is understandable.
I completely understand what you wrote.
I would not like to force no one and nothing.
Exactly that should be avoided.
On a properly working social network, nothing is forced.
People use it naturally.
Exactly the Hive is that place, where some people force themselves to comment.
There is an Ecency leaderboard, and some people force themselves to write more than 100 comments per day.
While some people force themselves not in the amount, but simply even to write a few comments.
So even in the communication itself.
Their communication is visibly not natural, not genuine.
I get your point. That's also true. At least, I try to engage with people naturally and to follow a conversation. Sometimes it's hard because some people's comments seem like made by robots.
I think that leaderboards here are good things because are incentives to people to engage with each other. But, as you do, I also think that some people, or most of people, force their comments just to make those numbers go up.
I notice too during years that when prices decreases people disappear from the platform, it's a shame I agree because this platform have a lot of potential, I'm still posting almost daily also if hive isn't high
I see Hive is 100% ok, but I see people demanding too much ... and do not look at themself move themselves forward so that new things come along and also lot new users 👌👌👌🦊☕. I think you're criticizing Hive too much.... calm down and try think how you can make so your own frends also come here ... and you have all what you want. And don't tell me that you've tried and it didn't work, I've heard too much about it and it's too easy excuse. 🤭👌🤯
And the lower the Hive the more you can buy a Hive, don't wait if the price is back at 50 cents or 90 cents in next 6 months and then you come back in internet and start criticizing again how you were not given the opportunity to get a Hive easily and cheaply. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤘
That's really true, now that I've been using hive for over 3 years and understand a lot of things, I don't even despair about its low value anymore. A lot of people stop using it, for me I'm happy with this low value, the best time to collect HP. Everything can be an opportunity.
I agree.
I even started buying Hive at the beginning of this month (on 2024.11.01).
I continue to regularly buy Hive at least in this month.
this value between 0.16 and 0.18 is even better, since it usually goes back up to 0.20 at some point, so we gain a few hives with this purchase. For me it's the best time, I hope it stays low for a long time yet, while I raise my HP.
