"Never Again": anti-arms movement in the United States
I'm still trying to find something positive in the negative about the Parkland High School killings, the positive thing is that young people may finally be able to finally reduce the number of psychologically unstable people who hold weapons and who are bombs delay.
A week after the killings in Parkland, Florida, which killed 17 people in a high school, tongues become loose among the students who survived. "Never Again" is the name of the movement they created a few days after the killing. The goal is to denounce the links between American political power and the pro-arms lobby.
After the Parkland massacre, students expressed their anger. Then, the anger gave way to a real movement, "Never Again". The goal is to strengthen the control of the psychiatric and legal history of gun buyers.
To make their demands heard, the students organized a demonstration that will take place in the United States on March 24th. They called it "A march for our lives".
Americans film themselves throwing their weapons
After the shooting last week, some Americans have decided to throw their weapons spontaneously, which is new as a reaction after a shootout given that Americans are strong attached to their guns. This is the case of a woman who filmed herself destroying her pistol. Many Internet users applauded his gesture.
The video has become viral on social networks. In her Connecticut garage, Amanda Meyer filmed sawing the barrel of her gun. This teacher, who had previously defended the right to carry a weapon, changed her mind after the killings at Stoneman Douglas High School.
Faced with the lack of reaction from the White House and elected officials, it is the students who take things in hand following the killing in the Florida high school. With already a march scheduled on March 24th. It was the students who survived the tragedy who made the announcement on Sunday.
"The March For Our Lives" will be held in Washington, DC, but other markets will also take place at the same time in other major communities across the country. The goal is to call for a comprehensive and effective law proposal that is immediately presented to Congress to address the widespread gun violence problems in the country.
A march during which the American youth intends to denounce elected officials who have links with the NRA, the powerful pro-arms lobby in the United States, which has funded part of the campaign of Donald Trump as recalled this weekend a survivor of the tragedy.
Another meeting is planned before, in Tallahassee, the capital of the State of Florida. About 100 students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland will travel to the state capital this Wednesday to lobby Florida officials to prevent people with mental disorders from buying weapons. Which was the case of Nikolas Cruz, the killer.
These students wish more generally a revision of the legislation in force in Florida.
Policy
The tragedy of Parkland is already the 18th of the year, but it caused a particular emotion, a series of reactions. The rallies follow one another everywhere in the country, as for example in front of the White House on Monday, or in front of the Parliament of Florida this Wednesday.
In the state where the tragedy took place, lawmakers must also debate the increasingly thorny subject of gun control. While many believe that these are part of the culture, even the American identity, the latest polls show that their supporters are no longer necessarily majority, more control is claimed by the people.
And in this context, Donald Trump is forced to get involved, with a major test scheduled for Wednesday: the president, having received the support of the arms lobby, must participate in a listening session with students and teachers of high school bruised Parkland.
Arm the campuses
The debate over arms control is regularly revived after deadly shootings, but the US Congress routinely fails to legislate.
Resistance to arms control is strongly rooted in Republicans but it is also present in the Democratic camp, admitted Democratic Senator Adam Schiff, assuring that it was time for Congress to move and do what the country asks: ignore the NRA and make the right decision.
But Ohio Republican Governor John Kasich has questioned the real will of parliamentarians to engage in substantive reform, suggesting specific changes such as background checks on buyers.
But for conservative radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, shooting is not the fault of the NRA, it's the fault of the people who do that and our inability to stop them.
Schools are no-go zones and anyone who wants to shoot at a school knows he will be the only one to be armed. According to him, the only way to avoid such shootings is to allow the use of a concealed weapon on campus, as is already the case in several US states.
So are you going after big pharma then? Or just advocating an infringement of our inalienable rights?
It s just a news... I do not judge anyone. I am just sad for the victims
Thanks for putting this out, many folks shy away from this, they sit on the fence as it relates to matters like this.
I don't support citizen carrying guns while many argue that its for self defence, majority rather use it to wreck havoc on the innocent lives and i am wondering how we got here.
The few who used guns for self defense rarely go about with it, they use it only within the confines of their house.
How can a man claim to angry and started shooting sporadically?
The evil of carrying guns supersedes the good therein
I'll never understand how people can think it's a good idea for everyone to have guns?? lol It makes no sense to me that anyone can kill at any time by pulling the trigger. How is that good?
all I can say is that our precious children arenโt safe in schools because clearly guns are more valuable than life. Guns donโt die, children do.
Hey. @lndesta120282 how are you doing today?
Yes indeed, as shown by the recent tragic events in the US - simple access to weapons is a negative factor. Probably not in one country in the world so often such things happen. It is necessary to be mentally sick person what to conceive and pay such.
But if people with headaches have access to arms, in such a society you can not feel safe.
I hope they succeed in making changes in the legislation on weapons.
Unfortunately, many laws and prohibitions are written in blood.
Thank you
No one talks about the real problem. Most these mass shooting have one common denominator - anti depressants. Looks like, if someone is already unstable and depressed, these anti depressant drugs can (and sometimes does) trigger crazy behavior that end up in blood. So many involved in mass shooting were on different kind of anti depressants.
It is a fact, states with most liberal gun laws in USA, where you don't even have to have conceal weapon permit, are the safest, with the least of crimes. (Wyoming is one of the examples) Criminals are avoiding states where there is bigger risk to them.
In a countries, where guns are not allowed, only criminals have them. And the rest are defenseless. Criminals will ALWAYS have a weapons no matter of the laws.
This anti arms protest feels like George Soros fingerprints all over it. Now they are going to use kids to get their goals, slowly disarm us. Hitler did the same. He would not be as successful as he was with his SS troops if German citizens would still be armed.
One thing i can't understand that why every body needs gun to protect them, when there are police and other law ans enforcement agency to protect them.Gun should allow for few people who are big shots of the society. They will think ten times before using them.America has got huge police force. Now let's see what kinds of step American government take.Who win's at the end the people of America or the weapon industry.Hope this time people will be victorious.Thank's for sharing with us.@upvoted and resteemed.@indesta i always try to follow your post.Yesterday i made a post i think you will like it.You will like it for sure, plz read the post and if you like then upvote and resteem the post, here is the link of the post https://steemit.com/blog/@rupok/international-mother-language-day.

Sangat menarik. Kami para stemians sangat berharap bisa seperti anda
Arms control....its so extreme...moreover, i believe there are better days ahead!
Though really appreciative that people are giving up thr guns. But is it enough to stop future bloodsheds? I don't think so.. Till the time one's conscious doesn't get touched, this ain't gonna stop..People's mindset is really indescribable. Till the time our society doesn't change, these things are never going to stop.. We have to create the ones in society.. I hope future stays good :)
Really inspired by Amanda's words.
If we all give up a our arm's, the world will surely turn to be a better place.

It's great to see that despite the terrible tragedy, people are starting to react. A society where everyone has the right to bear arms does NOT make people safer. There is no developed nation in the world other than the US, where people have to worry about potentially getting shot in their everyday lives. Even as a traveler, every time I visit the US there is that fear in the back of my mind that any lunatic could rain bullets down from a window. Sure, many other countries have problems of their own, but knives don't have the same potential to kill masses the way guns do, hence why no civilian should have access to them unless granted special permission after intense scrutiny and checks. I have faith that US will eventually find a solution to this problem, especially with the inspiring youth that are working hard to make a difference, I just wonder how many more lives will have to be taken first.
Very accurate information. Being more knowledgeable about other people's countries.
nice post
hope peace and love comes to this world.
I got new information from your post and iam inspired
Giving up arms???? Although a wise decision but there are various other things that can trigger the voilence and bloodshed...so the first step is good enough...but it is necessary to follow the other steps also. Thanks for sharing ..
Protect childrens not guns i totally agreed with you. i am weeping after watching this video. Same happened in Pakistan Army public school.
Trump wantยดs to make teachers to have a formation on weapons and then allow them to use a gun on a daily basis in school.
The US people are accustomed to having guns and they have their motives, it is all about history, a lot of citizens in the US is a descendant from poor people who left Europe centuries ago trying to succeed in life. They never had any power or safety in Europe, so they feel the need to always have some protection, which having a gun is quite helpful. It is a cultural issue above all else.
But there are consequences...
