Tropical Update #7: Dominica, Martinique and Guadeloupe Face Imminent Landfall of Hurricane Maria

Hurricane Maria is closing in on a possible landfall in the Central West Indies. The islands of Martinique, Dominica and Guadeloupe will feel the brunt of the category 3 Hurricane, with Dominica looking to be hit with the powerful Northern Eyewall.

The hurricane force winds are nearing these islands and will be arriving in only a few hours. Maria has ramped up her intensity in the last 36 hours, keeping it from growing as large as Irma had been when she made landfall a few islands to the North, in Barbuda.

One of the unforeseen dangers that Maria brings, is that the islands that will be impacted shortly, are being used by the British and the French Governments, to support the relief efforts in their more Northern possessions damaged by Irma. Maria will definitely have a negative affect on these efforts.

With top wind speeds of 145mph, Maria will bring significant damage to Dominica, Martinique and Guadeloupe. If you have friends, relatives or business on these islands and wish to contact them, do so immediately. The likelihood of this area losing power and communication is high and will likely remain that way for some time.

Send out some positive thoughts for the inhabitants of these picturesque islands.

There are so many hurricanes as of lately. I hope people will stay safe during Maria

Living out there is like playing Russian Roulette, they never know when it's going to be their year to get hit. My thoughts are with them.
