I Made a Tool to Find the Most Profitable Cash-out Strategy!

I've made a little tool to quickly determine if you should Power up 100% or Split 50% HBD and 50% HP, and it's live right here.
Note that since this is hosted on a free Heroku dyno, it may go to sleep once in a while.

How it works

The code is very simple; it's a single flask app that serves an HTML file.
There is a single POST /calculate endpoint that returns a message. This message is shown to the user.

Getting the prices

We use Coingecko's free API to get the current price of HIVE and HBD in USD.

The formula to calculate profits

The formula for Split 50% HBD and 50% HP is:
(MULTIPLIER * 0.5) + ((MULTIPLIER * 0.5) / (hive_to_hbd_ratio))

And for Power up 100%:
MULTIPLIER / hive_to_hbd_ratio

• MULTIPLIER is an arbitrary value - it's only used to show relative earnings
• hive_to_hbd_ratio is calculated by hive_to_usd / hbd_to_usd

Caution!

Your payout is calculated after 7 days.

The inherent weakness of this calculator is that it uses CURRENT values to determine highest profitability. During times of market reversal, the profitability today may not be the same after 7 days.
This means that the best payout strategy today is not guaranteed to be the same on the day of payout!

Quick tip

The greater the difference between two payout strategies, the more reliable the prediction is.
If both strategies yield very similar profits (eg. a difference of only 5 cents), then use whatever strategy you want.

Nice tool. It seems to me that the real determining factor is if people like to play the internal market.

PS: I looked at your wallet. You appear to favor the 50/50 split.

On on unrelated note: The SteemIt Curators on SteemIt.com are giving people upvotes if they set their systems to 100% power up. So, that is a good indication that 50/50 would pay more.

One of the rules for "TheDiaryGame" is that posts need to select the 100% powerup option.

Personally, I don't think this affects things in the least. I think they want people to show commitment to the platform. They also are making a really big deal about SPUD (Steem Power Up Day).
