Jahed Choudhury, 24, and Sean Rogan, 19, appeared on This Morning today to send a message to people who were not happy they were together.
‘This is how I chose to live my life,’ Mr Choudhury said.
‘No matter what people say I will always be Muslim. I will always pray, I will carry on praying for the rest of my life. InShaAllah, that will never change.’
A critic of the couple had questioned this and written on a BBC Midlands post: ‘You can be either a Muslim or a gay. Because there’s no gay marriage in Islam.’
Another Twitter user added: ‘Just putting Asian costumes doesn’t make it a Muslim marriage, there is no concept of gay marriage in Islam’.
But Mr Choudhury had a message for anyone who wasn’t happy with his lifestyle.
He added: ‘The main message is to educate any traditional Bangladeshi family or religious family that does not understand homosexuals.
‘I just hope no-one has to go through the same thing I did.’
Mr Rogan was also defiant and said he would support his husband whatever happened.
He said: ‘I’m in love with him so I’d do anything. I’ll support all the way.’
Mr Choudhury previously admitted he felt like a ‘black sheep’ in his Muslim community and added he struggled with his sexuality and faith.
His family did not attend his wedding.
