I love to begin my day thinking about the new possibilities that lay in my path. There are just so many choices to start out in a positive way or to pull those silver linings out from where they are hiding. Slow down, you move too fast. Slow it down and enjoy the journey, the ride, the getting from here to there. Savor the flavor of life.
My crazy neighbor has his sprinkler set up already. It ran this morning! Just as I was getting off on my #WednesdayWalk with @Tattoodjay. You can read about it and the rules here on his latest post.
Everything is starting to come to life in the neighborhood. Invasive species lead the way! I would have loved to say that my cherry tree led the way, but it was the Virginia Creeper crawling up the tree. It is in the wooded section of the neighborhood and has all this "tree bark fungus" on it. I have read that it is not harmful and are all-natural organisms... but, it looks a tad atrocious.
I stop. I hug this tree and give it some positive energy. I think it gave me back more than I gave it. It happens.
I am surrounded by the newness of the pines. I inhale deeply and say, "You are amazing. Alway and forever remember that." Yes. I talk to the trees. At least I am not a crazy cat lady. Well, not today. Meow.
Everything has a layer of new on it. The trees. The grass. Me.
She Sighs...
Nestled in between the pines are some beautiful Magnolia trees, which are just starting to throw out some petals. They are always so dramatic looking when they start blooming, especially those magnificent flowers on the bare branches. Nature is amazing.
A flower. There must always be a flower. Today is #WednesdayYellow #ColorChallenge by @Kalemandra. I love the idea of coloring my world with flowers. Every. Single. Day.

I always post this poem down at the bottom of my posts. It is one that has become so near and dear to my heart. I only post the most famous part of it, but, wanted to post it in its entirety today.
they set my aunts house on fire
i cried the way women on tv do
folding at the middle
like a five pound note.
i called the boy who use to love me
tried to ‘okay’ my voice
i said hello
he said warsan, what’s wrong, what’s happened?
i’ve been praying,
and these are what my prayers look like;
dear god
i come from two countries
one is thirsty
the other is on fire
both need water.
later that night
i held an atlas in my lap
ran my fingers across the whole world
and whispered,
"where does it hurt?"
it answered,
"everywhere"

Oh, but, I will bet that they hold the Christmas ornaments up nicely, am I right?? Those magnolias are just so magnificent, I just cannot hold them back! They are popping out so beautifully -I almost want to burst out in song.
Oh, silly man. They are flowers! They don't move an inch, so of course, they are so much easier to catch a good shot.
Totally jelly?? Oh, that makes me feel good!! LOL

So much fresh green. It was a pick me up for the eyes. Our deciduous magnolias are just coming into bloom here. They have such a wonderful scent and I love the shading of their pinks and yes even purples. Such a sublime post today, Denise:) Kudos:)

Oh my goodness Denise, your photos are so amazing. The magnolias are starting to bloom and show their sweet faces, sigh. What a surprise to see your neighbor was watering, well I guess he just wants to get a head start on mowing this season, right? Spring is definitely in the air!
Oh that is so funny! I'm going to have to tell my neighbor they will get a big laugh over that! Perhaps they are trying to get a jump on the mowing season. You know how we all love to do it!

It is such an amazing time of year, isn't it? Spring has definitely sprung here and each day gets a little bit better. I love how the growth is that fresh green and the grass is Emerald. The Magnolias have started to bloom and the Tulips are beautiful. I saw Forsythia yesterday and I'm just waiting on those RedBuds!

Isn't that so funny! I always think that when I say it, but I can't help saying it because it's true! The neighbors sprinklers did give me a little bit wet but I are dried! LOL
It sure is getting beautiful out and this weekend everybody is going to enjoy some really nice Spring weather. Good thing because it's the Kite Festival!

Cool you have a kite festival coming up this weekend and nice weather by the sounds of it :) here it is looking to warm up but still chilly and below freezing in the morning, but the forecast for the weekend is going up the the mid 50s so I hope this warming trend keeps going ;)
I know!!! How lucky are we? There is always something! The Kite Festival, The Cherry Blossom Festival and then in two weeks, the big Cherry Blossom Parade. And on and on! Spring is here!

I love a good walkabout...
I feel the same way! Especially at this time of year, when the weather is starting to get warmer and the scenery a little bit brighter. We have all sorts of new growth on our trees and the flowers are starting to pop out so it makes it a better time for a walkabout

A beautiful and slow walk to enjoy the freshness of spring atmosphere and talking to trees! The young green pine colour is very gentle. So nice to be able to immerse into new spring energy.

Your a few weeks ahead of us up here. The daffodils are about 3 inches high and the Magnolias are right there ready to pop. Quite possibly this weekend since we will be near 70deg. Such a wonderful time of the year, like you say.. take a deep breathe. Everything is waking up!!! yippee!!!
Sprinkler? Already?? We've had sooooooo much rain. I would have waited until later in May. I gave my wife (anniversary gift) a Magnolia grandiflora - Southern Magnolia about 15 years ago. We planted it in our back yard. At the time we thought this was our forever home.. ahahahahaha how things change. We drive by from time to time and I still see it back there flourishing. Gosh I loved the smell of it!! So stately with such dark green foliage and bright and very large, white blooms. (smile smile).
Hmmmmm... I WANT IT BACK!! Think the'll mind if I go dig it up?? hehe.. (Next post is from jail) Obviously I am kidding.. I think...
