Wednesday Walk Initiated By @tattoodjay

This week's #Wednesday walk was a local walk to the bank. The walk is through the streets of the village and the route was done both ways. I was surprised at how much I missed on the way.

The first image is of an extra floor being added to an existing building. This is happening a lot since the height regulations were changed to allow an extra floor.
Some of the buildings have had an extra floor added and the whole building has fallen down. Fortunately not very often.

This is a 90-degree corner in the road with the entrances to two houses in the corner and a bench to rest weary legs. The bench and flower pots are blocking the footpaths but this is normal. We all walk on the road.

to the left of the last image are some flower pots on a window ledge on the first floor (2nd floor in the USA)

This image is of palm trees growing around a children's play area. It is stripped now until COVID 19 is mastered.
Windmill Park.jpgAlmost at the bank is a large square with a windmill which I covered some time ago. https://hive.blog/wednesdaywalk/@honeycup-waters/wednesday-walk-by-tatoodjay-around-the-town-windmill So I won't cover it here but here is the link.

The windmill itself has flowers on both sides which the next two images show.

Time to head back-
On the way, I missed a small park which is closed but only with signs, where I took the next two photographs. The first is of a small gazebo. The second one is of a seating area around a tree and the third one is of a fountain in the middle of the park.

Further down the road is a house guarded by Lions. There are a few light spheres in the photograph but I thought it worth posting anyway.

Getting towards the end of the walk now and I was amused by the sight of a small window, two meters high, on a well-used road with bars on the windows. The amusing part is the bars on the window.

We are amongst the lowest crime rate countries in the world and virtually zero for house break-ins. Old people leave the keys in the front doors so the family can pop in, cars are left open with keys in the ignition.
Maybe they know something?

I hope you have enjoyed this brief walk and photographs. Usually, many of the photographs would not be possible because we have so many tourists but this year so far we have none.

Very nice post!

Thanks very much. It's a very nice place to be and with empty streets great for photographs. We have to have some tourists soon though.

Looks like a nice peaceful place! The purple flowering bush reminds me of Greece.

It's not far from Greece as the crow flies. I think a lot of Mediterranean islands share many common plants. We all have a lot of birds migrating so maybe they spread common seeds. I have no idea what these flowers are called, maybe I should find out because we have a lot of them about.
