RE: Wednesday Walk

in #wednesdaywalk6 years ago

I have to work around NEw Years other wise I would be spending both Christmas and New Years witht he family, but I cant complain I have had both off for the last few years and we normally rotate Christmas with them and New Years withus or vice versa, but awe will be together for Christmas which is special for the grandkids of course

Thats a good idea with celebrating it after the event much easier to plan for I think

I'm sorry you have to work on New Years! Another thing to look forward to that will come with retirement is not having your schedule dictated by someone else. I hated the change in our Christmas plans at first... I was pretty stuck on all the traditions I had enjoyed over the years and this change upset most of them. But the kids were being pulled in too many directions and everyone was so rushed trying to fit everything into 2 days that this way actually gives me more time to be with them all. Plus we get to celebrate Christmas, New Years, and two birthdays together.

That is cool to be able to celebrate them all together including the Birthdays, I dont mind so much working around New Years and not celebrating it, thats more for the younger crowd and a lot of alcohol, now that I dont drink watching others drinking isnt quite the same fun LOL

Yeah, we will open a bottle of champagne on New Years Eve and probably watch a movie, but the celebration centers more around food than it does alcohol. I've never been much of a drinker and there was only after I started traveling in Europe that I learned to even like wine. So our New Year's celebration will be pretty sedate compared to some!

I used to enjoy. Beer or 5 from time ot time, now I may celebrate the New Year with a Soda LOL I guess thats a sign of age on my part
