Nothing like a hump day to inspire you to pull your camera out of your pocket and go for a walk! This post is for Wednesday Walk challenge championed by our friend @tattoodjay and the Make me Smile Collaboration challenge lead by @elizacheng. The basic idea is going for a walk, taking pictures, sharing stories and making people smile.
This Weds, I am taking you on an all inclusive tour of one of the happiest places on the earth. Well, for the dogs at least...
The day started out exotic enough. Working right in the downtown core where our office and many of our https://www.towncriermarketing.ca clients are. A quaint town that I could probably walk different streets every week and find neat stuff to share. Turns out this quick late morning shot of https://rajastratford.ca patio was the only shot I took in what was predominantly an office day full of meetings. After that, I have someone at home who is ALWAYS ready for a Wednesday Walk.
I think he recognizes the word DogWars more than he does park which is the best place on earth as far as my little guy is concerned. Like @cmplxty, I am taking the little man on an adventure https://hive.blog/hive-155530/@cmplxty/we-love-waterfalls but my little guy is a fuzzy one, there are fewer waterfalls, and I don't have to fear for the law. Check it out! Just like my guy is checking out the Canada geese on the way to the park.
Right when we get there, he is off like a shot as soon as I let him through the gate. The park is entirely enclosed in fence so the dogs run free. Lately, he is not all about the dog wars as much as he is running right through them all and heading to the corner to hunt in the bushes.
I tend to follow him through the crowd and have a @davedickeyyall #afternoonbowl Funny the things you notice afterward like the perfectly aligned hydro towers and the low pressure system encroaching from the north.
I often get visited by the people loving dogs who come to say hi. Never met this little one before but he jumped right up on my lap and licked my face like we were old friend.
This guy saw what was going on and came in to see what the fuss was about. They either lose interest when they realise I don't have a pocket full of treats or they stick around for a few scratches.
Not to be outdone, my little dood smiled through one of many drive-bys at full tilt. The more he runs the better so that he sleeps well at night. No worries today as he incessantly gallops through the field of clover.
He does have an even better place to be if he can convince me to follow him into the back and the land of mosquitos. If I am going to give the full experience on this walk, I have to brave the bugs. To the back we go.
All roaming and playing is out of the picture when we head out back. It is time for sniffing under every stick and zooming along the paths in search of......actually I am not sure what he is searching for.
In a semi-related note, I try and take a picture from this perspective every time we go. I am hoping to collect a whole pile of them throughout the year and combine them into an all-season GIF when I am done.
Hard to believe this is the same shot in February.
Here is another shot from the far end of that same path.
Here we are from the same vantage point in the middle of winter.
The birdhouse tree even goes through a drastic cosmetic transformation throughout the season.
This was in early spring when the buds were just starting to pop.
Over in the smallest section, there are a few lawn chars to lounge upon while Sir Stripeyface hunts these bushes. Fantastic place to relax and enjoy the sun setting to end the 90 minutes or so we try and spend here every day.
That about does it as I head home to our own sort of wilderness and make sure no pesky ground hogs or snabbits have infiltrated our yard while we were gone. You can see the prints on the hot tub as evidence of where he likes to lounge and supervise.
That is about it for your tour of the dog park for #wednesdaywalk. I am celebrating with a nice clear Double IPA I might just highlight this weekend. Til then, cheers and...
Some awesome shots man, love the zoomies lol. I eventually want a dog but not for a while, we’ve got enough stuff going on lol but it would be nice to take ‘em to a park like that. It looks like a heck of a big one too!
Cool shot with the different seasons, I need to try to do that with a spot around here! I’m not sure which one would be good to do that, I’ll have to figure it out!
He is definitely a perpetual motion machine.
If I had my way, we wouldn't have him. Good thing I didn't get my way and I make the most of it helping him enjoy life. Turns out I enjoy walks in the park too! He is actually pretty small like 40 pounds. I must have crouched for the shot.
Such a big difference in the scenary between summer and winter for sure. Would love to try that Nautical Disaster double IPA.
It was a good one! I will hopefully have a couple hundred shots from that same spot when winter rolls around again. Looking forward to sharing the changes all in one short video on @3speak
That would be a cool video.
A fun read and your dog sounds like he has such fun in that park
Cool seeing the same spots in different seasons such contrasts
I think he has the time of his life every visit.
Like I told Joe, I hope to have a couple hundred shots from the same places and stitch them together in an animated gif or video to show the whole year of change in a few seconds.
the gif or video would be awesome to see when you get it done
Dogs love to go for walks. One of my friend's dogs jumped when he heard the word "walk". Yours looks the same. Nice shot as always man 📸
Ya. So funny the immediate change in their demeanour an attention when you say the word. His eyes shoot open and his head told a little when I say, “Dog wars?”
Walking around in such beautiful weather has its own fun the way we see that Usman is looking very beautiful and the clouds are telling him that it will start raining shortly and your dog is very cute. Looks more beautiful.
The first picture looks so amazing
I'm glad you started your day with it
It is enough to make your day go well
That first picture is one for a social media business post but the dog walk is all pleasure.
