Almost everybody knows the code "420" or "420 blaze it", but do you know the origin of this secret code?
The so called "Waldos" were searching for an old plantage after they found a treasure map from the owner. As a meeting place they settled a statue of Louis Pasteur at 4:20 pm. That is why they called this operation "4:20 Louis" and after several failed attempts they shortened the code to "420".
This developped into a code for smoking weed in general. This has the consequences that street signs with the number 420 are stolen frequently. So some states, for example Colorado, Denver and Minnesota, changed the signs from "420" to "419.99" or from "420 St" to "42x St".
