Boston has some great Forts
There's FORT Independence over at Castle Island
FORT Hill in Roxbury
and of Course FORT Wenny over at Mount Malta
.
Whereas the September Freedom Festival is a big festival type concert,
The 420 meet-up is a much smaller scale event, and not really official, but somehow it goes down every year and without any permits.
It is very much a sharing is caring vibe
and you will even see entrepreneurs,
promoters,
vendors,
and performers.
All packed in together
Up on top of Mount Malta, where it always smells exactly like "lots of weed".
It is probably because of all the Bongs,
and the dab rigs,
and the blunts,
and the "NEW" English Spliffs (no tobacco allowed mates)
and the dab rigs
and the bongs
...Word to the Wise!
Be sure to keep tabs on your lighter.
It's very Common in Boston that you'll never see the one you came with ever again.
People were so high they were just hovering around, or it seemed.
Me, and my friend "Bubbles", even had a chance to check in and see what's poppin', on a quick walk over to the Hempest.
The Hempest is over on Newbury Street,
where there are an assortment of fun little privately owned shops.
many local brands have there store fronts here.
They have an amazing selection of hemp derived products, including CBD weed, and sold exactly the way weed should be sold in shops.
With a scale, a bag of jar of weed and plastic baggies,
Weed free, of all the technocratic trappings.
4/20 is always a busy day, and so from Newbury St. I headed West on 2 over to the town of Fitchburg
for a cannabis themed comedy event 420 Funny
hosted by local Thc-lebrity The Weed Faerie
It was great to get out and do some authentic laughing, which I'm told is even better medicine than cannabis.
I always try to go to events because people's participation is a vital part of the culture's existence
It very interesting to see how the demographic of folks attending amazing events like this has really changed from the early days of the freedom festival where it was more folks of the college scene. Now they are coming with their grandmothers.
It is also great to be able to meet and talk with the vendors
Who come with all KINDS of crafts to display
Folks working usually day and night and scheduling away all of their weekends in the hopes of finding success
in the ever growing Cottage that is
the Small Batch Craft Cannabis industry
Laughing, The Weed Faerie, Boston Common's Mt Malta and The Hempest of New England ... HIGHLY recomended

Thats sweet! Make sure you elevate that small batch growers community as high as you can. That is where the bomb is at, and also the legacy growers who made all this even possible. So many want to pay next to nothing for their habit. Even if it is a few bucks more, it is worth it in the long run.
