Hey guys, good evening hope your day went well sorry I haven’t written for while I have been so busy with a lot of work . I promise to get back on track soon. I would be telling you of a weekend hangout I attended last weekend. Picture attached here was taken at the events.
I was privileged to be among does selected to learn a digital skill with cybersafe foundation 3.0 cohort, currently on it tho. It hasn’t been easy combining it with work, meeting up with deadlines and assessments but its worth the time. Since it's trains girls across Nigeria and African Abuja chapter had it hangout last weekend.
Cybersafe foundation is a fellowship designed to equip African girls and woman with cybersecurity skills to help them start a career in the digital world. While digigirls training program is a 3 month digital entrepreneurship skills training program designed to equip and train girl’s and women aged 15-40 in digital skills of their choice like data analysis, UI/UX, digital marketing, E-commerce and graphic designs.
They partner with UKaid and this training is done for free gudos to the initiators of the program.
Before the training official starts, we would be taught the basic knowledge of computer and how to navigate it after which and assessments would be given with at least 80% pass mark before you again entry into the 3.0 cohort. The training official started on the 14 august 2023 and would elapse till November. In the course of the training, I have been taught about cyber security, cybersecurity awareness, cyber fraud etc. one important thing I learnt was how to identify phishing, phishing is a deception through email which aims to get victim’s to reveal sensitives information I also learnt the different times of phishing like , vishing, smishing, spoofing etc. lastly I was taught that cybersecurity is everyone’s business.

After the cybersecurity class, we moved on to the soft skill course, which I learnt about self-leadership, self-awareness, how to become self-aware, how to build my self-confidence, visions and goals, time management and a lot more. I must say that the training has been very impactful and educative.
Before we were assigned to our various learning part, we were had a day in seminar on all the digital skills and we were given time to ask questions. After which I moved on to my learning part which is data analysis.
A story I would tell some other day of how it has been when I’m done learning.
Finally I am really grateful to cyber safe foundation for this great opportunity to learn.
