Welcome new guys.
Steemit is a great platform to form an online forum and community. However there are some hidden rules.
These rules are mostly due to steemit being in beta without a very developed economic ecosystem and are likely to change. Adopting steem right now means you get onto the ground level of a crazy social experiment with unlimited possibilities. The difficulty with participating right now is that there isn't really a trodden path for you to follow, you will be in the deep and likely won't see the way to get rewarded. This is called being in freefall, it means that you are learning at hyper speed. In my opinion this is a good thing. Most of your life you will be used to exploiting knowledge that others have already explored and standardised. Steemit will give you the opportunity to be an explorer and live the dream that few others have experienced.
We have been given a goldmine and a pick-axe to mine it. Figure out how to use that pick-axe or learn to build better tools and you will be rewarded in gold. This whole project will get very interesting once someone figures out to develop real infrastructure around this gold mine. Keep using that pick-axe and you will fall behind. We are here to be innovative not exploitative. In an age where robots and computers threaten to automate many of our jobs it is now more important than ever to develop new design and explorer professions to provide humans with the same job stability we have always had. Otherwise the wealth gap will continue to increase and society's elite will succeed in transforming this world into something terrible out of 1984.
Lets turn this platform into our own decentralised government and wipe these fat cats off their pedestals.
