So what's been a long time since I've sat down to write and I just finished reading a post by a guy named Charles Fuchs @stackin . His post inspired me because he talked about success love speed and money loves speed and those are two things that I desire deeply success and money. Money not so much for the sake of it. Money for the options that it gives.
I am a 38-year-old former Marine and Naval officer turned comedian as I like to say entrepremedian. A few years ago when I was working for a start-up and sitting behind a desk I took a moment to actually conduct an exercise by Napoleon hill and the exercise was to write down the purpose of my life. Mr. Hill knew that often times many people would not actually do the exercises at home so as I listened to this five hour audiobook which was a compilation of excerpts from different lectures that he gave, It dawned on me to take this action right now because I didn't leave the military after 14 years to simply sit behind a desk and sell things over the phone.
I feel that many of us have been put on this earth to do great things and we have chosen to succumb to the rat race or to our fears. So right then and there I took this exercise to heart and this is what I came up with:
"The purpose of my life is to bring joy, pleasure and happiness to those around me. To learn daily achieve greatly and always follow my divine creativity. So that one day I can help 1000 people live the life of their own design, So they may inspire those they were meant to inspire."
Now that's not exactly what I wrote down some four years ago but it's pretty darn close. Since then I've added to it and edited and massaged it over the years. My goal is to say it daily like a prayer to the universe so that it may inspire someone to know what their purpose in this world. I urge you to take this challenge and if you read this all the way through write in the comments below. What is your purpose?
