Welcome To Steemit Everyone!

Steemit is a wonderful place where many dreams can come true. Where wishes can be filled and real problems be dealt with. Steemit is the social network and blogging site where a wide range of people get together and truly connect. We are still young and developing, but if you take the time, you will see how many amazing people have already landed on this platform. I joined out of curiosity, but I have stayed because I see how this place can truly make a difference!

Dreams Can Come True

The Fall Into Homelessness.I will highlight a few examples of the beauty I have witnessed here in my first 6 months. The first is from an intelligent, articulate woman with 3 children that had fallen into homelessness. The story is of @hickorymack and you can read her initial post

She reached out and told her story, and the community responded in ways that would bring a tear to your eyes. She received over 600 upvotes on her post and over 350 comments giving her help and guidance, along with sympathy and prayers. Her story also got the attention of some of the larger generous steemians such as @canadian-coconut, @hendrikdegrote, and @v4vapid and she earned well over few thousand US dollars on that one post alone. The community support group of @familyprotection also got involved on that day, and within weeks @hickorymack and her three beautiful children had a place to live and were no longer homeless.

This is Steemit. This is what a vibrant community can do!

Real Problems Can Get Solved

A friend of mine @briancourteau reached out to me to find a way to cash in his cryptocurrency so he could buy medicine to stop his seizures. Brian has terminal cancer and is living out his last days on Steemit with his love @lynncoyle1.

I had an idea to see if we could raise him the money he was seeking ($150), instead of him having to cash in his crypto, so I put up a post Want To Help? Donate To Free A Man From His Pain, Help Love Story End Without Pain. The result was nothing short of amazing. Not only did we raise Brian the money for his current medical needs, but hundreds of people donated both money and advice on things he could do to improve his current situation. All told, the total support was thousands of US dollars in money terms, but immeasurable in love and respect.

This is Steemit. This is how people can care about each other!

A Social Network With Real Friends

A wonderful aspect of Steemit is the people you will get to know. People from all around the world that are experiencing what you are experiencing.

Because the site is only 2 years old, much of the things to be learned are learned together. This forms a bond and enables people who would otherwise never make contact to connect. And these connections are real. I can honestly say I now have friends in Europe, Asia, South America, Africa, Australia, and of course North America. Steemit is still young, but its penetration is deep enough for me to have reached friends in 6 of the 7 continents!

This is Steemit. This is where you make real connections!

A Publishing/Blogging Site Where You Can Earn

Another positive for Steemit is that real life authors, artists, teachers, and bloggers can publish their work and get paid.

Each of these contribute their thoughts, ideas, and products to the community, and a network of support structures evaluate and value their works. While Steemit is still very small compared to the other social networks and publishing/blogging sites, the ability to earn something of value is real nonetheless. Many have been able to cash out hundreds, and in some cases, thousands of dollars from their valuable efforts.

This is Steemit. This is where thoughts and ideas earn real money!

Getting Paid In Crypto Is A Learning Experience Too

One of the coolest features about Steemit is the way in which you earn money. You get paid in not one, but two forms of cryptocurrency. Both STEEM and the Steem Dollar are actively traded cryptocurrencies that can be exchanged easily for other cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, ethereum, or litecoin. From there, they are of course also convertible to the currency of your choice whether it be US dollars, Euros, Rubles, Rupees or Yen.

I have learned a lot about how the various cryptocurrencies work, like how easy it is to move money around the world in a split-second. When we wanted to get money to Brian in Mexico, we worked with friends in Europe @pennsif and Asia @scrooger to make it happen in literally minutes. The power of these cryptos have uses far beyond our current imagination. By being "involved" directly on a day to day basis, I believe Steemit as a platform offers a unique opportunity to learn firsthand and be at the leading edge of what is going on.

This is Steemit. This is a complete crypto experience!

Many Active Communities For Support

Even though Steemit is young, there have already been many great communities that have sprung up in support of the platform. We have entire groups that support educational and technical endeavors like @steemstem and @utopian-io. These two groups are a major factor in building and sustaining our promising and talented technical contributors.

There are also curating groups like @curie and @ocd which are looking for quality writers and talented artists to reward daily. Also, we have many community support groups like @qurator @minnowsupport @helpie @comedyopenmic @asapers @greetersguild and @newbieresteemday that support the smaller members of the community and encourage participation. And finally there are community support projects like the previously mentioned @familyprotection and compliance groups like @steemcleaners that provide extra support for those in need. Together these communities provide a backbone of support and enable the ecosystem to develop at a fast pace.

This is Steemit. This is how communities develop!

The Party Is Just Getting Started

The best thing about Steemit is the platform is still developing and improving daily. Spend a week here and you will feel how much potential is really within our grasp.

That makes every day a wonderment that will entertain you, enlighten you, and keep you striving for what the future holds next. They say learning keeps you young. If that's the case then Steemit will be our fountain of youth. Many days I have so much fun, it feels like the whole place is having one big party. And the beauty is that party is just now getting started. I am thrilled with my experiences here and I look very much forward to what the future has in store for us all!

This is Steemit. This is where the party has just begun!

Upvoted, well done Dave! You've got a big heart, so glad folks like you join Steem in it's early days.

Thank you very much @dj123! That's what I love about this, is we are all still very new! :)

I love this stuff. You are always leading the charge to make this place a better place. Thanks for all you do. It is strange how you can find a family in a bunch of complete strangers on a blockchain dealing with imaginary money but fixing real world problems. When you have hit rock bottom there is always someone here to say I have been there and give you some sort of hand up. I just spoke to a man in a 3rd world country and his article got @curie and it allowed him to move his son out of the country because that one vote was worth more than he made in an entire year as a professor. Just think about that. One damn vote fixed someones life. One damn vote was worth more than he made in an entire year as a PROFESSOR. My mind is continually blown when I log on here. We can't stop, No check that , We won't stop. Clear the tracks because a freight train is about to roll through and we ain't stopping.

I love your mentality @doomsdaychassis! (prefer DDC)... You and I would have a great time if we ever get together for dinner and a few drinks! I love this quote, it is so appropriate:

It is strange how you can find a family in a bunch of complete strangers on a blockchain dealing with imaginary money but fixing real world problems. When you have hit rock bottom there is always someone here to say I have been there and give you some sort of hand up

I love that... I love that you are right.. Its things like that where I get my drive and inspiration! I'm very happy to connect to you and I look forward to finding ways to make those stories more frequent and rewarding. Life is too short to sit back and be lazy, I know you get it and I'm excited for what we all can do in the future together!

One damn vote fixed someones life.

So much this! Its completely insane what this platform does for people. This is what made me want to be a part of Steemit! Lives are being changed for the better and that is beautiful!

check it out. I rebloged it but seemed ineffective
https://steemit.com/english/@hlezama/my-curie-story#@doomsdaychassis/re-hlezama-re-doomsdaychassis-re-hlezama-re-doomsdaychassis-re-hlezama-my-curie-story-20180514t013755230z

the crazy part is this guy is a professor. Much smarter then myself and a curie vote is more than he makes a year. That is not right. They are dealing with 13,000% inflation last night when i spoke to him. I spoke to another Venezualan this morning and he said they were at over 13,600% today. That is amazingly fucked up. Put it this way. If you had $100,000 in savings it would be worth pennies overnight at that rate. That is the sad sick face of socialism right there. He said they have to stand in bread lines for hours and are allowed to buy 2 items. That is disgusting. I feel so bad for this guy. He spent all his @curie money getting his son out of the country.

They are dealing with 13,000% inflation

Yes they are, as are many other second and third world countries. The value of a US$1.00 stretches amazingly in these countries.

I too reblogged a post by a brand new Brazilian Steemian, @carlos8049888, who withdrew only $4.00 from his Steemit account. He works in the insurance industry and earns the equivalent of US$1.70 per MONTH.

With that US$4.00 from his Steemit earnings, he was able to buy groceries like chicken, meat and cheese that they had not been able to purchase for months.

M.O.N.T.H.S.

That's the power of what this Steemit platform can do.

Life changing.. For everyone. For all of us.

I couldn't have said it better. I think i sm going to sit down in the next couple days and write out a serious post about this. It really does piss me off.

more stories need to get more attention and build a community to help. In a way, it is great that he can use the steem or SBD to buy groceries, but, on the other hand, HODLing them will pay him a lot more in the future, so, can we come up with a better solution than just spending it all?

Wow, those numbers are crazy! So sad, and yes, very disgusting. What these people have to go through to just eat some bread, its heart wrenching. And he was so selfless to spend all that on just getting his kid out of there. Thanks for sharing this information, I had missed what you had written about him. Definitely going to follow him, he sounds like one hell of a man, and anything I can do to help, I will do!

Wow! The first story was VERY impressive! You did an amazing job on this post!

Thank you very much @mysearchisover! That is such a nice compliment! :)

I love this post Dave! Sometimes you gotta forget the doomsayers and look to the future! And then you have to make that future happen now :) We are doing it, brother <3 Much love - Carl

Thank you so much for that compliment Carl! I really value your opinion, so its very cool to hear that you like it! And yes, I agree we are doing it... one step at a time ;)

Thank you so much for entering Dave and producing this brilliant piece of content!

I've commented similar elsewhere, but I want to say again that you probably picked the best 2 examples from 2018 of the power of the community to help out when they see a need to do so.

Thank you again, loved it!

I'm glad you loved it, I enjoyed doing it! I wanted to make sure that your event was successful so I even learned a new trick ;) (wrapping the pics with text)... And thank you also for the generous prizes of 5 sbd and 220 SP... I really appreciate it and didn't expect it, but I've of course very grateful!...

I hope you were happy with the result of your idea because you deserve to be, it was awesome!

Thanks again! Cheers :)

Very nice post! Just about the right length with the right range of themes for the competition.... really appealing.

Very nicely formatted too - but d'you not use spacing under your headings? '< br >' immediately before your text? I think it would look even better then!

Oh the technical wonderland that is steemit.

Great post.

Thank you very much for the compliment.. I did try that but it did put too much space in there and it looked awkward (like the heading was just floating too high)... I don't know if I can manage the size of the space of the break... But if there is a way, I would definitely do it... I tried it out both ways though...

And thank you very much for the advice, I really appreciate it!

Hi @davemccoy,

Thank you very much for this extremely inspiring post.

You highlighted in very personal terms the power of this Steemit platform. You reminded me eloquently why I was so excited after I first heard about Steemit, during my wait to get in and during the addictive first six to eight weeks of my time here.

From the very beginning my mind has struggled with why I spend so much of my day on Steemit but my heart and soul have always known why. It is the very first place online that I've found since 2004 that combines so many things that are important to me.

Community... but community that involves being able to be part of so many different communities that have no connection with each other.

Every single interest we have can find a real tribe on Steemit to share, collaborate, hang out and create fulfilling self expression. A poet who is also a woodworker, gardener, ufo watcher and nurse can find individual communities to express all these different sides of her/his self. In ONE place,on ONE website.

WHILE earning crypto doing so. ;)

Thanks for the timely reminder of what we are all involved with here on Steemit. Thanks for putting things back in to perspective, for me, personally. I've been floundering a bit here for the past few weeks, wondering if my vision of what Steemit is and can be matches the vision of the 'powers that be' here.

Thanks for highlighting the heart of Steemit and Steemians. As usual, here, online or offline in the 'real' world, it is not the 'powers that be' that truly determine the future. It is the power of the heart love of people who are united with a sense of mission and purpose.

The fact that an online space can transform the real world through real lives all over our beloved planet Earth, never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

Thank you for your passionate vision, loving reminder and call to unstoppable, full active duty as we meld and focus our daily heartfelt contribution with this Steemit platform to the mission of transforming this world.

why something is so amazing, it helps you think about all the great things you've experienced.wow.. that is beautiful... thank you so much for the respect you showed me by writing such a wonderful comment @angelacs! I'm very touched to hear such passion in your own words and glad that I could help you remember what you really enjoyed. I agree that sometimes the day to day can get our vision out of perspective and in reality it was also helpful to me to do this post. When you have to sit and think of

Thank you very very much for the great comment and my voting power is still low from the weekend, but
I'm happy to give you what I got! Have a wonderful day and a terrific rest of your week! :D

wow @davemccoy - you never cease to amaze me! I was so proud reading your post and knowing how much good is coming from our corner of Steemit!! <3 <3 I hope so many people will read it and decide to join and be a part of the pay if forward culture we all share ! Your marketing is pure genius as usual. This is why I call you The Boss ;-)

omgosh, I love that giphy @amariespeaks :)... and thank you so much for the kind words and I am very happy that you liked it! It is so true what I said in that post about the awesome connections, and its people like you that I'm so glad I have met! Just think how many more connections we have now thanks to steemit, and yes our corner of this place is super awesome! :)

I'm stealing this one from you and giving it back to ya! ;)

newbie resteem day fish.gif

LOL I'm glad you like the gif ! :) and thanks for everything - I hope you take the cake with this one!

I don't know how you came up with that idea, but its very cute! I will be using it again, you can count on it ;)

go for it! I have a few variations of my clapping fish heads ;-) I'd love to see them everywhere lol so silly and fun

This is brilliant @davemccoy. your first pick is just about the best thing anyone has seen on Steemit. The last one too - communities - sure hold the keys to the sustainability of this platform and i am glad you considered @comedyopenmic as one of the groups that are steering the Steemit ship towards the shore we all hope one day it will land.

PS: you are welcome to hop into our discord server anytime you feel like and we will be happy to welcome you.

Gracias.

Awesome to hear you like it @holybranches... I agree that @hickorymack's story was an incredible thing to witness! I will do just that and join you guys right now, I've heard a lot of great things about @comedyopenmic and I'm happy to join you :)

Great post!
Thanks for tasting the eden!

Thank you very much for the natural support @edensgarden! I really appreciate you doing that, it means a lot to get organic support when I know you are normally a paid for bot! :)

This is such an amazing and complete post
that you can add nothing more or take anything from it. On the recent hours i was wondering where did all my friends here on steemit go on weekends and it is such a dead silence and then i see a powerful post like this. It literary woke me up. Congrats Dave. It is not like anything i wouldn't expect from you. I usually think of you as my mentor and an example to follow. Keep it up.

Thank you very much for such a wonderful comment... I am deeply touched at your words, and honored to be though of so highly by you!... Thank you @triplef! :D

You are just awesome dave and I love that you placed the post you did for Lynn.

That was one of the most powerful things that I have seen someone do in this platform.

It makes me believe that we can do so much good here.

Thank you very much Mav! I respect your thoughts and opinions and it means a lot to get that kinda praise from you! I agree that this place has awesome potential and I think with people like you it might just happen too! ;)

You are who I Idolize and think is an example of a good person that will do so much good to the platform.

Together we will make this place better. I believe in it.

That's very cool Mav! thank you :D

And I agree completely

Together we will make this place better. I believe in it.

Have a terrific day!

I got a warm fuzzy feeling reading this article. So nice to see real people being helped by a community.

I agree with you completely... Those are 2 experiences that I will never forget and perfect examples of why I love this place! :)

Very nicely done @davemccoy! You pretty much got examples of all our "highlights" in there and still kept it a manageable length. I like that you included the "real life stories," that's awesome!

Thank you very much @denmarkguy! I really appreciated you reading not only mine, but many others as well! Its that kind of support that makes this place awesome... I am truly honored that you did like it too :)

The best thing about Steemit is that the platform is still being developed and improved on a daily basis. Spend a week here and you will feel how much potential is really within our reach.

I would have so many fabulous things to say, that it could take me a couple of hours to write, I arrived at steemit by chance, incredulous and really ignorant, but from there I could not get away, in my country we went through the worst economic crisis and really steemit helped me in many ways; it gave me the opportunity to earn extra money, money that really is what drives the economy of my home, with so many people to learn from, I no longer have time to torture myself thinking about the situation and I have got valuable information and tools to keep going! I'm happy to meet and be an active part of steemit.com and I'm happy to follow the characters we have as an example to follow, greetings friend

Thank you for the fabulous comment @melvadg! I am so happy to hear your story and glad you found steemit too! I have sympathy for what you are going through as I have met many wonderful Venezuelans and it is sad to see what is happening to such a beautiful country and people. I'm glad we connected here though and look forward to the future with excitement!

Sure, thanks for your kind comment and for your affection for the Venezuelans.

Awesome post Dave. Thank you for including the @asapers too! :)

Thank you @hitmeasap! And of course I include @asapers... I love what you do and the people you have involved are top notch amazing individuals! (including you!)

Love it Dave!! I'm so glad you included us in your post too :)

I'm glad you liked it Lynn and honestly your love story is one of the most beautiful things I have seen on steemit!

awww thank you Dave! That's very kind of you to say :)

Its true Lynn! :)

@davemccoy, you will always hold a place in my Steemit. Thank you for always being good.

Thank you for that very awesome comment @profanereviews! I'm honored :)

Thanks for this beautiful article, @davemccoy.

I'll share it with my thousands of Facebook friends, in the hope they would put theire noos into steemit and its eco-system.

A big hug from @amico!

P.s.: could I translate it in Italian?

You can definitely translate it and re-post it anywhere you like! I would be honored if you did so! And if you do, please come to one of my latest posts and drop me the link so that I see it!

And thank you for the very nice words, I really appreciate hearing that :D

If you would like me to send it to you in word or even just in a notepad so that you have the code I will be happy to do that too... just let me know and I'd be happy to send it to you!

Oh, thank you very much, @davemccoy!

It will be my immense joy, in addition to linking the post and the original author in my translated version, let you know the link to my post.

I appreciate your kindness, but I already have the source text to start from.

Have a great day!
A big hug from @amico!

let me know when your post comes out @amico and I will resteem it and put it permanently into my post if you get it to me before the 7 day edit period runs out! :)

Awesome post @davemccoy. To be involved with @lynncoyle1 and @briancourteau and see the outpouring of love and support not just for them but from them has been amazing. It has been wonderful to see the community working the way many of us think it should. Plus you're a great source of support too. I do have to add one group to your list :D @greetersguild, only because a lot of us are apart of most of these you've mentioned and SGG.

Thank you @tryskele; that's so sweet of you to say. And I agree, @greetersguild is a good one!

I will add it right now... It was just an oversight :P

No worries. Just felt I had to mess with you a little bit.

I'm glad you did, maybe nobody else caught it, I fixed it ;)

fantastic post dave! i love how you shared these real life powerful and touching stories that have happened because of steemit!! this is the stuff the world needs to see! <3 congrats!

Thank you very much @mountainjewel! And congrats again on your wonderful post! I'm glad to see such wonderful stories and its great to see this project of Ashers thrive!

thanks dave <3 so happy to she asher's project thrive too! #welcometosteemit!

postWonderfully said, my friend @davemccoy, "... the whole place is having one big party. And the beauty is that party is just now getting started." I love it :) By the way, as promised, I made my meet and greets

Ok awesome on your post, going there right after I take care of these comments... I'm very happy to see it! :)

Its been long i read such an amazing post from you. I'm so happy i met you on steemit, you are a life changer...

Thank you very much for such a nice compliment @sparrowbernard! I really appreciate it and happy I met you as well :)

I really love how this post demonstrates real world applications of how Steem Blockchain has helped people.

Thank you for the nice words @omitaylor! And I agree with you, that is exactly why I am still here... Those are the awesome things that are possible! :D

I just read this right now a i love what you do, i also followed you because i must confess, your content is amazing, i would love more of these.

Thank you very much for the kind words and I followed you back because you seem amazing too! I'm glad we connected and I really like your lovely comment back to me! :)

This is awesome, thanks for the follow, i believe we can go a long way together, by the way, are you a Witness, i am currently making a research on Steem Witnesses and how to contribute to their well-being, i could use some information and advice from you.

Of course, I'm very happy to make the connection to you! And I'm not a witness, but I support very closely 2 witnesses and work closely with their projects...

#1 The latest project is @dustsweeper with good friend and witness @danielsaori and you should join that because it will help you get paid on your "dust votes"... (if you need explanation, just ask)...

#2 is the witness @steemcommunity which is run by my great friends @abh12345 and @paulag and they are responsible for the greatest weekly contest on steemit which is Asher's League of Excellence... If you haven't joined it yet, let me know and I will tell you where to sign up for that too.

Also I support as witnesses @yabapmatt who is the creator of steembottracker and is very community oriented and helps out us littler guys... And @jackmiller, @curie, @qurator who are also for building the community and I have seen some serious efforts on all their behalves to do so.

I am also going to be starting this week on a project where I will be interviewing and highlighting the witnesses, so you can also look for that and ask them questions too...

I think it is awesome that you are getting involved and I definitely want to help you in any way possible... I also think you are exactly right that we can go a long way together!

Let me know if you have any questions,

Dave

Thanks my friend and we are here to help pay it forward anytime........My post is why I love steemit too lol

Hey Brian! I am going to respond to your post right now, it was great!... It is on my list of thing to definitely get to today and it is time! I am glad that you like the post!!!

If I believed in God I would say you are an Angel on Steemit,
But that belief is in the air, So I will just say you are an inspiration.

lol.. thank you so much for the really really nice compliment Jan! :)

I absolutely love this post Dave. Love that you incorporated the different aspects of Steemit, from sharing knowledge with one another to building friendships and communities.

We all come on here for various reasons, but in the end, it is these factors you’ve highlighted that keeps us here still.

Thank you @beeyou, it means a lot when the teacher gives her pupil a compliment! I will take it and thank you for you very nice words :D

That was a very impressive post. I like it a lot, the stories used to tell about steemit, and the professional look to the post with well used graphics and spacing, it looks really great. (duping this on Asher's post)

Thank you very much @bashadow for the kind words ... and I also thank you for the help ;) .... I'm very happy you like it! :D

Oh Dave, this is so useful! I am so happy to have met you here. These stories are breathtaking. What an amazing community here! I will be helping as much as I can.
Thank you for referring me to this article. It has outdone all my expectations! I'm so looking forward to your next posts! You will be my favourite author, I know it now already :) Martina

I'm glad you checked it out... there is good and not so good about everything... but there's a reason why we all keep coming back! And frankly its the people that are here and the potential that is really there for the future! So happy to see you exploring, that's a good sign for sure!

Thank you for sharing that link with me @davemccoy

Im glad that you're still here on Steemit. It has been 7 months since you posted this and most people I know who were active that long time ago are already gone :(

I will follow you closely

yours
Piotr

you're welcome and yes many have come and gone... I think the part I don't like the most is that people I learn to like are suddenly not there anymore... I guess its part of building a social network, but that's one aspect that I probably won't ever get used to. Nice to meet you and I got your link... no worries about sending me anything, you can message me here or in discord and save on the wallet cost ;) ... have a nice day and nice to meet you @crypt.piotr!

Hi @davemccoy

Please accept my appology for such a late reply. Past few days have been very busy and I just managed to read your comment a moment ago.

I really love how responsive you are. Indeed steemit needs more people like you. Thx for your constant support buddy.

I learn to like are suddenly not there anymore... I guess its part of building a social network, but that's one aspect that I probably won't ever get used to

Indeed, many people are gone already. I've learned that from each 100 people I get to know maybe 20-30 will be still around in a year time. So building community around yourself it's a slow process. Very slow sometimes.

Have a pleasant sunday,
Piotr

What a touching and informative article. I had no idea about these genuine charitable uses of Steemit.

Thank you for the nice words and they are definitely true... I experienced them both in real time and still remember both like they were yesterday! Welcome to steemit @hamismsf! :)

Well done @davemccoy . the community engagement and the willingness of people supporting each other makes this not a platform but a community a family each contributing what they can to the whole . And together making a brighter future for all

You said it perfectly @wolfhart! i couldn't agree more :)... thank you for the compliment too :D

Steemit is the greatest idea in cryptocurrency

I agree completely @yalzeee! :)

Very well said @davemccoy, you hit it right on, it still is very early. Very cool you touched on the personal campaigns as well, there are countless amounts of them on here, without the micro fees that make it possible with steem and steemit! Excellent post sir, absolutely love it!

Thank you very much @cryptkeeper17! I really appreciate your compliments and respect! :)

You have shown us some great examples on how Steemit community can help people out, when they need some sort of relief. Check out your earning figure on @hickorymack post. I think you wanted to say few hundred, not few thousand US dollars.

If memory serves it was a few thousand US$s, I believe steem was right around $8 at the time... Plus I know she also received several big upvotes of her comments too.... So I'm positive it was over $1000 and I'm 85% sure it was over $2k on that one post alone... It was an amazing thing to witness, I had been told about it by @luanne and then I resteemed it and @abh12345 saw it and resteemed it and then it literally just took off... I was stunned at the speed at which people will move to help others.

And thank you very much for the nice comment @amazingwoman! You are right about how great it is to see people rally to help those in need! Have a wonderful day and glad to meet you too :)

Congrats Dave!

Thanks @josephlacsamana... I am going to read your post right now btw! I had to finish commenting first, but I definitely want to read it!

Thank you so much @davemccoy! I appreciated you. <3

Thank you very much and again, very nice post of yours too Joseph!

Yes! It hit the trending page......Cheers mate

I assume you mean @mountainjewel's great post @solcross! I am surprised it hit the trending page, but if it did, then that is awesome! I am just happy to see such great entries from so many people to come to Asher's call! All the entries were well done and I was very happy to participate!

Great article @davemccoy. Congratulations on getting an honourable mention from Asher! 😁

Thank you very much Gillian... That is a nice compliment from you and I appreciate it! And yes, that is also a very nice compliment from Asher too :)

What an awesome post @davemccoy! These stories make my heart so happy! THIS is what Steemit is about. Thanks for sharing a wonderful reminder of how great this platform really is! <3

Thank you very much @smylie2005!!! I am happy to hear that you enjoyed it and yes they do mine too :) ... And happy to have you back from your vacation (I know you have been back but don't think I've said welcome back yet) ;)

This is great @davemccoy! You do so many great things for the community, and especially for us little ones... your post is very hopeful and optimistic, so you definitely get two paws up from me!

Also exciting to see this as a great example of a community effort. Communities are built by PEOPLE (and sometimes cats!), not by bots or code. We must always keep that firmly in mind!

=^..^=

lol... you are right its the people, and the cats, that really make the communities special! :P ... I am very glad you liked it and certainly happy to know it received two paws up! :D

And no worries, I will remember that its the people and the cats vs the bots/code! :P no worries ;)

Been a long time Dave, miss seeing you in my feeds, how's it been?

I've been good @djazzman! Happy its the summer now and can get out and enjoy the weather.... How about you, how have you been doing? And its great to see you too :)

I have been very busy and honestly i don't think i like it very much. Its rainy here so i prefer to stay away.

when you say it is rainy, do you mean on steemit or in your country? I personally like the rain, but I know I'm unusual compared to most people!

Lol its always bright and sunny on steemit, i mean in my country, now i am a fan of rain don't get me wrong cos it always leaves behind a lovely cool weather and its great for my garden but i do not like to be under it. And i love going out

good... I didn't know if you were using a code word for here on steemit!

And I understand what you mean as far as rain sometimes pinning you inside, fortunately that doesn't happen here very often... Snow works the same way... I love it when we have it... But after a few days (if its heavy), then you are like enough is enough :P

@davemccoy - great testimonies tot he power of this platform and community! In my real life, I have made efforts to help homeless people to solve their problems and particularly with rentals. I do not know if @hickorymack can use help in learning ways to deal with it if she ever needs help or if she might be willing to learn and help others. I have the knowledge and experience to "train the trainers".

I know that she has gotten on her feet and doing well, but she is still active on the platform so you should reach out to her and find out... She is very smart and well spoken, so I'm sure you will find it a pleasure to get to know her even if it is just friends!

Thanks for the offer and love to hear you are doing great things off the platform too! Also there is another person that if you can ever get ahold of it is @seaslim.. she is also a big advocate of the homeless!

I love your focus on people whose lives have been helped by Steemit! 💙

Thank you very much @phoenixwren! :D

I liked you post very much too! This is a great way to pay tribute to Asher's idea and thanks again for participating too :)

A miracle in the world of Steemit, welcome😊🙏

I completely agree! Thanks @laugnlilawangsa! :)

Good Brother🙏

Thanks for WELCOME.
