This beautiful Peacock greeted us at the Diamond Farm Stay. After we checked into the Cottage, this lovely peacock came and stood in front of our door way. It was not afraid of us at all.
When we first came to check out Perth, Western Australia in 2009, we wanted to experience what is farm stay. Coming from the city, we do not get close to nature or 'real animals'. My children get to see them in the zoo or when we go overseas for holidays. So actually spending 4 nights in a farm was a great adventure and were very excited.
This farm was recommended by my cousin who have 3 children and they enjoyed themselves staying in this farm and love their Perth holiday. It is about 3.5 to 4 hours drive from Perth. We rented a 4 wheel drive as not sure what to expect. Wanted to be prepared in case the road needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We remembered how fortunate that we had a 4W rental Subaru Forester in Lake Tahoe, Nevada USA, or we would not be able to negotiate the bends and curves when we were in Mount Rose that Winter. If we had rented a normal car, we would be lost on how to put up a Snow Chain onto it to prevent Skidding on the slippery icy road around the mountain.
The roads to the Diamond Cottage Farm were good and signs were clear and we have no problem finding our destination. Around the area there are wineries, cafes, shops, Lavender and Berry Farm where you can get fresh Scones, pancakes and Ice Cream. Wish I can find the photos taken at the Lavender Farm. We climbed the Diamond Tree, not all the way up as I am afraid of heights.
When you are in Pemberton, one has to visit The Pemberton Tramway. This is a slow motorised tram that will let you enjoy the leisure ride as you are brought back into the Karri Forest. The driver also double up as a guide and we stopped along the ride at Cascade Fall after crossing many bridges along the way. If after a rainy day, you can see the running waters under the bridges. A relaxing 1 hour 45mins ride with historical information was not a bad thing as we were already tired with the walking around. Lots of tall trees and dated back to historical times, was told some were really old and not found in other areas. It was windy and cold, and fortunate that we brought our wind breaker with us.
See how this Peacock posted for us in every direction. Could not resist taking so many photos of it.
Next photo - on the different farm animals on the Farm. They are free to roam around and I was wondering if some of them will go missing, or ran away or stolen as a meal on someone's table.
The next morning, we walk around the farm and saw the owner feeding them and a pond in the photo, where he was telling us we can actually do some fishing there. But we were not prepared and we wanted to spend time discovering the surrounding area in Pemberton.
We saw a small group of sheep and one of them left the flock and went to the river bank. Not sure it is going to take a drink or it is just a loner.
100% my own photos

Just love the peacock photos, I can imagine having a peacock as a pet - so cool!
Yes these peacocks are beautiful but not sure if it can be rear as pet. Maybe that's what the owner intention was since they cannot be eaten, right??
Thanks as usual for your kind support.
